Re: Blue Fire and Green Glow

Cool! I saw the blue too. I was waving my blue smurf gloves, wondering "What the heck, am I narc'ed? It looks like the blue is coming off my gloves'"

Re: San Juan Island Diving

That's a really nice campground, especially in September once the crowds die down. Beautiful sunsets from there, and we also saw orcas swim by a couple times! Haven't dove there though!

Re: Orcas Island Diving

Hi Francis Wow, I'm camping at Moran State Park that same weekend! (yes, planned 9 months in advanced to get that perfect spot! it's a great camping spot if you haven't been there yet.) I wasn't planning on diving but I could maybe be talked into it, else certainly snorkelling/kayaking. A quick sear...

Sixgill tidbits

Hi I found the following two pieces of information on sixgills on the internet recently. 1) Info on sixgill sibling behavior from the Seattle Aquarium (old, but I hadn't seen it) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KNkFyjbPPII 2) Interesting info on dead sixgills being washed ashore from the Orca Network...

Redondo 8/19

Hi DLH and I went diving at redondo last night. We spent 50 minutes at >90 feet looking for a shark, but didn't see any. We also ran into several other dive teams (including Grateful diver), none of them found a shark either. Oh well, great dive anyway. Sorry I didn't get any pictures, as I was havi...

Re: lost yellow pony bottle redondo 8/7

Hi We were there at the hose cleaning up about 10:30pm and didn't see anything. The lot was closed by that time so maybe it was the attendant. I think we saw you when we were heading in? (somebody told us about the octo location?) There was one set of divers coming up before us too (2 rebreathers an...

Redondo again

Hi
DLH and I went to Redondo again last night around 9pm, looking for the sixgill. No sixgill, but we did see a lot of small dogfish. There were a lot of plainfin midshipman and small octos too.

SJI in July

Hi Went to the San Juans last weekend. Sites hit included Bell Island, Broken Point, Strawberry Island. Plenty of the San Juan favorites were in abundance! Below are some of the pics. One of the more interesting finds was seeing the scallop caught by the Snakelock anemone. I now know why they're cal...

Re: We got skunked too!

Hi! Thanks!
I can't join you this Thursday, as I have to be at home replenishing the WAF meter as I'm heading out to the San Juans this weekend. Hopefully next Thursday --looking forward to diving with you again!

We got skunked too!

Hi
DLH and I went out last night on our rebreathers looking for the six gills at redondo. No luck!

Viz was really crappy at the surface. Not bad down below.

Some of the other highlights below.

Happy Hunting!

Redondo 7/15

Hi DLH and I went diving at Redondo last night. Viz was stellar! Highlights of the dive included lots of brittle stars (I don't know if those are frequently seen at redondo, let me know!), lots of squid eggs, a school of opal squid, a stubby squid, an octo, and egg yolk jellies. I only got one shot ...

Junkyard, July 6

We went and dove the junk yard last night. There was a lot of algae in the water. A sick amount on the surface, and snot below. Short dive, but we managed to see a few sea spiders and a lot more nudibranchs than I saw there last time. Other than that, not too much to see. No jellies, other than a de...
