Re: Neah Bay Halibut fishing/Dive trip.

You were only fishing for halibut - wuss. :smt064 I give them a sporting chance pursuing them by spear. The real bad asses use a pole spear :pirate: Actually... they have done something in area 4 this year that has not been done in over 10+ years. They have opened up King Salmon fishing for the two...

Re: GPO Input needed!

I am on the advisory group and I agree the option B came out of left field compared to what was discussed. Hopefully some of the wording and sites can be amended. There is a workshop on the 24th at the Seattle Aquarium that I would encourage people to attend. The sites that are already listed as MP...

Re: GPO Input needed!

I do not spearfish, but I did live in an area where the large fishing lobby did a pretty good job of limiting what and where you could dive (NE/Maine). We are losing dive spots here due to creosol cleanups, I would hate to start losing them because fisherman are feeling that their spots are being t...

Re: GPO Input needed!

I'm going to put out something unpopular, but what I really think needs to be brought up. It seems as if we are giving fisherman a pass. We set up areas were divers have showers, picnic tables, easy shore entries and other conveniences and allow topside fishing; but require spear fisherman to dive ...

Re: GPO Input needed!

Ya wanna do something productive to help the GPO's at our dive sites??. Try reaching out to the sport fishermen (Our largest opponent in passing these regulations) and Spearfishing community. Inform them that your, our, intention is to close ONLY our precious dive sites to the taking of GPO's. Tell ...

Re: Hat (Gedney) Island Barges have been removed.

How much money does, or HAS Washington state spent on developing artificial reefs? And now they are tearing up and removing all of these? It makes not sence at all. The barges were a MECCA of fish life and habitat. What a waste.

Re: Hat (Gedney) Island Barges have been removed.

A sad day indeed. Those barges were great dive sites. Did they even remove the one at 100 FSW+? How on Earth would removing the sunken barges improve the marina breakwater wall? In my opinion, they removed the barges to keep divers and fishermen out from in front of the marina. The residents of Hat...

Hat (Gedney) Island Barges have been removed.

Went to do one of my favorite dives today. One of my favorite Ling Cod spots. The Hat Island barges. Much to my dismay, they have been removed in the process of improving the break wall of the Marina. I ran a dozen side scan's of the entire area. You can see the dredge patterns on the bottom of the ...

Re: Cove 2 eats....

So far I've been liking the new spot, and the people are friendly. It doesn't have that Cheers feeling, but give it a few years and maybe some magic will happen. I like the food at the new spot a lot more (c'mon, they got SPAM). Spam.... No offense intended, but what is it with the spam??? I love H...

Cove 2 eats....

Great dive at Cove 2 today. Nice vis. Had yet to try the new eats there so we gave Marination a try. The food was pretty good, but not great. The quaintness of the old Alki crab shack is definitely gone. I felt like I was in a cafeteria lunchroom. Zero ambiance. Overall, very much missing the old Cr...

I'm assuming it's not a very savvy user. Watch your caps lock as in the "online world" people use that to express anger or yelling. Caps lock is to the left of the letter a. I see some people have asked some questions and sent PMs in the other thread that they started. Hopefully they will...

Ikelite Camera housing for Cannon T4i + Fisheye dome port

Ikelite housing and fisheye dome port for sale. Essentially new. Only has 3 dives on it. Comes with an 8" fish eye port. The port does have a couple minor scratches on the glass, but it vanishes once submerged and does not show up on photos. Ill post some actual photos of the housing asap, but ...

Re: Trimix vs rebreather

I'm getting a quote on industrial o2 now from air gas. We will see what shakes out. On a lighter note, Aaron's dive shop in Kailua just announced their new membership plan... 100 bucks a year, 75 for military and you get 2 free fills of 32 or 36 every day, 7 days a week. I called and spoke with the...

Re: Trimix vs rebreather

I heard someone just picked up a really nice KISS CCR for $6K recently too. FWIW.. I will be going to a CCR this summer. I dont plan on doing 200+ foot dives every time either. Primarily staying in Rec ranges. What I will gain by going CCR? Bottom time. Safety time. (time to get out of a bad situati...
