If it would make her feel any better, I would bring some Christmas lights to Hood Canal and turn them on! :smt119 :smt119 Maybe on our night dive...(hmmmmm?) Who needs aritificial Christmas lights?!? Just go on a night dive, put your primary light on your chest to snuff the light, start waving your...

Ditto to everything Sounder said! :salute: Out of the gate I purchased two HP 100's. I am not unhappy with them, but I wish now that I had bought 119's. 130's? Sounder, you da man... makes me tired just thinking about it... BUT if I had the spare Scuba Units I'd own one or two for that occasional di...

Tom - how about Edmonds? We lost some weight that day! I was wishing I had nitrox at the surface after that surface swim and current!!! No kidding! Sunrise is another... I want to dive that site so bad, but unless I'm doing it from a boat the "getting to the water" description keeps scari...

I'm counting on this to be a substitute for the gym. haha. I wouldn't count on it too much, at least the actual diving part! ](*,) When I'm doing it right, diving is relaxing, I'm slowing my breathing WAY down, and not exerting lots of energy. I find myself telling lots of divers to slow down and e...

Near the middle / end of the book a couple of divers show up using tri-mix, which the deep divers of the time call "voodoo gas". Very interesting...

The only time I hit the barges was as the 3rd dive of the day, and in comparison to the first two it was not much to write home about. Viz was crummy, which I think kind of colored my opinion, making me one of the people you referred to that would be less than excited about a trip there. I'll have t...

Shadow Diver is an amazing read... drama, mystery, "humans", cool diving, you'll get sweaty palms from reading about diving to 200 plus ft. on just air. The descriptions of narcosis and more are just spellbinding.

Fills are not a problem. They just cost money! ](*,) (Sorry, I'm used to free air and only paying for nitrox.) Air fills are $5, and you can buy a card that gets you a discount and nitrox is $10. Air fills will be hot, and in the 3 to 3200 psi range. (being the Hoover that I am, this is an issue for...

Nice report, and great pics as usual GD! Love the shots of the octo! I know it is anthropomorphosizing (sp?!?) :book: but those pics just BEG for a caption below them! Such personality! ( I know, I know, it's an octo, but I can just "hear" them saying stuff with those great poses they make...

Hey Spark! Thanks for taking the initiative in this. Count me in and my non-diver sweet wife. Just have to make the dates work. I second DiverDown's thoughts about moving our date perhaps to November or Mid December to give the Canal some time to recover. As I expressed on the other thread, here's h...

Here's hoping that it is a temporary, cyclical, natural event that the canal will quickly bounce back from.

Thanks for the report and photos Janna, though ver depressing. :salute:

My .02: I carry a 40 cf "slung" on my left side. I thought that having it mounted to my main tank was defenitely going to be for me, but I didn't like it there- it kept throwning my trim off, no matter how I moved my weighting around, and it just never felt "right." Agreed, Nail...
