Cool, yeah it looks interesting, any tide notes? Apart from Rosario or Pass slack? I figure one would want to aim for the ridge reef NE of the island for an approach.
I almost went there today for a look but had to do other stuff.

Re: Possession Point - Tech Dive?
Interestingly the bathymetry shows the bottom continuing well past 200 to 300 feet in general, really quite shockingly deep. I am not qualified or interested to venture quite that far down, but I could imagine a tech-equipped dive being appropriate for anything involving much time below 30 metres, w...

The bathymetry I attached in first post illustrates the "tech" aspect As far this being referred to as "tech" site, here is one example: http://www.theperfectdive.com/DEF-Site.asp?sID=242 I have been tech diving in Australia, Indonesia, Hawaii for a bit, back in this area now (Wh...

Re: Possession Point - Tech Dive?
Preferably CCR at "Mod1" helitrox (45m) level, though I'd be happy to spend plenty time much shallower than 45m

Possession Point - Tech Dive?
Possession Point [Fingers] has been described as a technical diving location, no doubt due to its dramatic vertical relief underwater. (bathymetry attached: blues rec depths to 40 metres, pinks 40 to 60m, oranges 60 to 100m, ...) Is anyone doing tech level dives there? Redundant gas supplies, self-s...

Re: Spring diving at Deception Pass
These were my first times going in there, the first time surprisingly a very easy dive that did not disappoint with regard to stunning unwrecked cold reef habitat :supz: The latest time we all got in too early on purpose, fought the counter-current eddy just to start the dive, and then hurtled aroun...

DPV dives / "Northwest Island" ?
Is anyone going out to Northwest Island (Rosario) these days? I just got my hands on a DPV.

Re: Free State Parks Day
Yessir, just having some fun here. I did proudly snip a lost line or two on one of a few dives over the weekend.
I did subsequently order some EMT shears and a cable cutter, in case a legendary ghost net should be encountered.

On that note, what are people's favorite line and cable cutters? Other self-rescue accessories? Educational stories about summer diving?

Re: New to tech
I'm up on Whidbey and haven't really needed to incur deco for good dives in while. But for the right objective I might be keen. Is it worth going 'deep' (e.g. ~35-45m) at Cove 2 or Mukilteo? Is there anything must-see at those depths? Diamond Knot would be nice. Flagpole Point? Are you doing any hel...

Re: Critter creeper
Wow, yeah cool vids!
I was curious enough to find the 2005 bathymetry data and plot that out for Keystone. There is apparently terrain out there, but perhaps not anything like prominent features that are easy to visit.

Re: Critter creeper
Thanks @YellowEye Eric. I was curious about what else might be worth visiting beyond the jetty, but with low visibility I have only ventured as far as 23 metres / 75 feet depth. It was all pebble field, but a few things live out there.
See you on the next neap tides, perchance

Re: Keystone Jetty
Here is some bathymetry data (Finlayson 2005; https://www.ocean.washington.edu/data/pugetsound/psdem2005.html) plotted out for the Keystone area. Blues: recreational diving depths, pinks: 40 to 60m range; oranges: deep; green: land (x>0). I haven't ventured any deeper than 23 metres. All I've seen s...

Re: Alki Point Safe Streets debacle
How about everyone gets to use the street as long as there is respectful sharing, no speeding, and no harassment, endangerment, asphyxiation, or colliding with bicyclists, non-motorists. You don't need to get to the Alki strip in 5 minutes going 40+mph. Ya just don't...

Critter creeper
Hello, I dive here, I like to mingle with and/or creep out the local wildlife. Does anyone happen to know who the twin-tank and rebreather divers were are Keystone last Sunday, and where they went? I am curious what other cool stuff is out there that warranted the extra range. I did the standard jet...
