Re: Grounded For How Long???

I posted recently my story about being "Grounded Again". Now I have the sequel. Yesterday I started my PT with an accupunture session. First time and it was nothing like what I was expecting. In fact I was impressed and am scheduled for more sessions plus some pool work. But then the &quo...

Re: Hello from yet another new guy (in Gig Harbor)

Update time - finally got schedules meshed up between students and instructors yesterday, did our final OW dives at les Davis and I'm officially certifiable. Err, certified... Woo Hoo! :taco:

Of course, now I have to go get on a plane and go to Denver for a week of work stuff...

Re: Grounded AGAIN!!!!

Being old sucks!! Things just don't heal like they used to. :rawlings: :rawlings: Take your time, get well. It may be winter there by the time you heal but it's not everywhere! Thanks for the encouragement youngster. With the new car I bought my wife yesterday, lots of airline miles on the books an...

Re: Silfa, Iceland Dive Video

WOW... Amazing. And one more reason I want to go visit Iceland, now... I've always wanted to got here and see the rift on dryland, now I want to see it underwater too. A few minutes with Google came up with this site about the dive: http://www.dive.is/Diving_Iceland.php?page=Silfra

Re: Scuba diver "wrongful death" law suit in WA

You dive professionals can judge better than me, but I think the college's dive manual looks pretty complete. If they were following its provisions, I don't see where there is much more that the college could do and still put people in the water. When I was teaching high school oceanography, my dis...

Re: Finally Got my Sensor Cleaned :)

Wow! When I open the first picture, on my desk top, it looks as if I have to wipe it off. 2nd pic is much better, how come it isn't completely clean? Getting the sensor *completely* free is kinda challenging... Of course, if the fee was high enough then I'd be taking it back for a second round of c...

Re: Hello from yet another new guy (in Gig Harbor)

 *&*(**&*&^%^&%%&*(^%^& sinuses! Woke up with some clogging comin' on... If they don't clear up by tomorrow I will have to scrub my first OW dive - which will suck 'cuz I have to fly to Denver on Sunday and can't go with the rest of the class on the *scheduled* day... ...

Hello from yet another new guy (in Gig Harbor)

Hi everyone, one more new-guy intro for the forum... "My name is Jim, and I'm a ..." - oh wait, wrong kind of intro... :-) Anyway, the Jim part is right. I'm brand-new to the whole diving thing, working on my certification (first OW dive is set for this Thursday). I've wanted to start for ...
