Re: Driving over altitude after diving - best practices?

When I dove the Silo, I drove back immediately after the dry Silo tour which we did about an hour after the dive. Got back to Edmonds a few hours without any issues.

Re: Hi from Guam!

Welcome to the club Jamie. My opinion on your question is, you could just call any of the LDS here and enroll in a class with any instructor. For the most part, drysuit instruction is really not that complicated from agency to agency. It's pretty much the same. What's important is for you to know an...

Re: Mares Power Plana fins

Peter and I have been using the Power Planas. I absolutely love them. I have several pairs of Jet fins and a set of the Dive Rites, and I like the PPs better than either. They are stiff enough to do all the precision kicks, but a little more flexible in the center, so it seems to me I can swim MUCH...

Re: Mares Power Plana fins

Not actually looking particularly for a lighter fin. As a matter of fact, I want a heavier, sturdier fin to accommodate the modified kicks. I've been diving my Volo for at least 5 years and am very happy with it, other than situations where I really have to perform a back frog kick or helicopter kic...

Mares Power Plana fins

I'm in the hunt for another set of fins, and considering the Mares Power Plana fins. I use a Mares Volo right now, and I really like their sizes and their foot pockets. Fits any of my drysuits just perfect. Are there any on this board using the Mares Power Plana fins? I like it due to it's size and ...

Can you imagine being there in the middle of summer? Brings me back memories when I used to work not far from that area.

Torn seals? That's what duct tapes are for in your save a dive kit. They actually temporarily work. it worked for me, both wrist and neck seals, :partydance:

Re: re-breathers

You guys make me want to buy a ccr just to dive shallow profiles. Me too. To the OP, I'm a bit surprised with your credentials and years of experience (I assume based on your low instructor cert. number) that you know nothing about CCR's. I'm not a CCR diver, but have dived a lot with them. I under...

Hello Anne,

Welcome to the Club!

If you ever want a buddy to dive the Edmonds Underwater Park, let me know. I would be glad to be your buddy. I just live 5 minutes away from the park.

Re: Getting in shape for diving and for life.

Great post Don. Keeping someone's weight down and in check is really not that hard to do, once you have that habit and that exercise fever going. It really depends on which side of the coin one is: Whether you're on the overweight side and just can't get that rhythm going to make it a habit of exerc...

Re: Weekly? Monthly? Weekend Dive

Hi All, There are plenty of mid-week dives scheduled on a consistent basis and would love the flexibility to get to some of these but I can't imagine getting down there in time on a weekday. The Bubbles and Suds group dive every Wednesday, 1900 splash, either Mukilteo T-Dock or Edmonds. Last week ,...

Re: Upside down crab dribbling

So, say you are walking down the street one day and KIng Kong shows up, picks you up and starts dribbling you in the air 10 or 12 feet for awhile, then gently puts you down, and continues on his merry way. Other than the mess you'd have to clean up in your drawers, you don't think that might have a...
