Circle of life well captured! You'd think the stubbies would grow bigger eating like that.

Re: Sea lion friend or foe?
On the one hand I'm glad I didn't have to travel so far for an authentic sea lion experience. But, on the other hand the viz does look awesome at Hornby Island!
So, I take it the general consensus is sea lions play rough but are otherwise safe to hang out with?

Sea lion friend or foe?
On Sunday JPA, myself and another dive buddy ventured out to Blakely Rock. Currents were predicted to be very nice and we left early to dive China wall and then the east reef (Shangri-La) at slack. It was a beautiful morning and the sun was just coming up as we departed the Alki boat launch. A quick...

Re: Glued a GoPro to a Bluefin housing
I'm still rendering at 1080p but wanted the flexibility 4k offered for the benefits you mentioned. I had snagged a different LUT I found online after looking into gopro 4k workflows with FCP. I've yet to use it. Thanks for the link. I'll check it out. Same with proxy media. I didn't have a need for ...

Re: Glued a GoPro to a Bluefin housing
Thanks all and thanks for the tips ljjames. I hadn't thought of turning the gopro around mainly because I don't want to see my face. :-) But catching a buddy up to something or an approaching tiger shark is a good idea. I read online I should use protune but didn't really know what to expect. I'm al...

Sunrise 1/31
Closed out January with a single dive at Sunrise with JPA. It was a major high tide with no beach at the end of the trail. The surface current was wind blown north. As we were gearing up two cars of teenagers pull into the parking lot. It was about 9am. 1 guy and two girls got out of the cars and we...

Glued a GoPro to a Bluefin housing
I have a trip to Raja Ampat coming up in March and was thinking of ways to basically cover every scenario I could encounter with my video camera. It's tough to be ready for everything, but since I'll probably only get to this destination once in my life, I want to stack the odds in my favor. I usual...

Two nice shots. Apparently your squid shot did turn out! I didn't really get much on video. Was great diving last night!
