Re: Diving for Halibut

Be carefull, One of my instructors was a police diver. They did a body recovery years ago for a diver that speared a skate. They found him underneath the oil docks at Mukilteo. The diver had his spear gun clipped to his BC and was tangeld up in the pilings. When they retrieved the body the skate was...

Re: Dive club car decals

I have 1000+ dives, ALWAYS had dive sticker on my vehicles. I have yet to be broken into and had dive gear stolen. I have also dove most shore accessible spots in the Puget sound area. If someone really wants to break in to your car and steal something. They most likely are going to do it dive stick...

Re: Airplane on Fire leaving Sea Tac Today

Message loud and clear. I spoke before I researched, I have been watching those documentaries on puget sound pollution and it has been on my mind. My plane fuel knowledge is minimal, so that was an uneducated statement. Another thing is, I wasnt trying to imply that sea life outweighs flaming crash...

I know I know they need to do that in order to narrow the possibilty of fire or something, but poor fishys
I suppose a firey plane crash with massive carnage, live on King5 news would have been the better alternative. :goodpost:

As far as I know the boat launch are downtown is a no dive zone. Ive always dove south shore dr, there is a little terraced park there. With a slope to about 40-60ft. Lots of junk, ive found a few guns old bottles and jars. There are some really big crawfish and largemouth bass. I like the dive pers...

I recieved several free certs from my instructor. Kinda of a trade for help with classes. Though I did pay for my DM training as well as My A.I. cert. But it was at a discounted rate. It worked out well for me. :thumb3d:

Im sure Chuck was refering to the confidence part. The funnest times I had in the pool was doing some of the skills you described lljames. Not any standard I was trained, or standard I ever suggested! Just seemed like a prudent thing to do in a comfortable environment. If that makes sence? Though my...

Re: Open Water training standards-split from "fatality at Sund R

Why would you ditch your gear and take only your pony? That does not make sense. it overly complicates things. the pony is not for panic ascents. it is to give you the option of a controlled ascent, as opposed to the old "blow and go" (AKA drop your weight belt, flare and scream all the w...

Some things I never can understand and one of them is running out of air and having to be taught that you shouldn't run out of air. When I first started diving that's all I could think of...don't run out of air, check gauge...I didn't have time to do much else. I never understand how you can do som...
