Lake Washington Houghton wreckage

Josh and I went to check out a couple targets off Houghton last Sunday. There are three wrecks I have visited in this area, but I only videoed two of them. The third looks like the drawing below. double ender boat.jpg DOES ANYONE HAVE AN IDEA OF WHAT THIS COULD BE ? The circles in the base of the hu...

Re: monkey weight

I wear 13 lbs plus my BP. Which means I add 6 lbs when I monkey (in saltwater) I have 7 lbs plus my BP in the lake. :eric:

Which reminds me, do you wanna pinball some shallow wrecks in the lake this weekend?

Re: Weekends were made for Wreck Diving

I think the viz was actually better in the North End of the lake than the South end, but not by a significant amount. Right about that. :crybaby: Vis at Matthews Beach was horrible, but Leschi was awesome on Sat. I'm sorry I missed you Sat. My buddy bailed on me (something about his girlfriends bir...

Re: Weekends were made for Wreck Diving

This is probably a stupid question, but i guess didn't realize (or have just been lucky and not run into any) that there were ghost nets in the lake... Are they gill nets or heavier? and..uh... what are they fishing for? salmon on their way upstream? trout? steelhead? The ones I've seen by the Vali...

Re: Weekends were made for Wreck Diving

Did you plunk into the lake at all? Josh and I went to film two new wrecks and the vis was pretty bad. Just wondering if it was better where you were. There are 3 other small wrecks I want to film out of Kirkland, but one is a pretty far scoot out, not so easy to hit in real bad vis. Usually these t...

Re: Duncan Rock

Great video Dan! I'm curious, I've noticed a number or rebreather divers using force fins. Is there something about them that makes them appealing for CCR or is it just a coincidence? Some of the guys I dive with are out of Adventures Down Under up in Bellingham (actually most of us are now) and th...

Re: Duncan Rock

Great footage! I've been out to the rock once, but the skipper called the dive. Thanks! This was my second attempt in about 5 years. The first time the skipper (Puffin Charters) yelled at us for even thinking of diving it, and said if we chose to get in the water he wouldn't pick us up. :uh...

Re: Duncan Rock

Oh yeah, max depth we hit was around 100 ft, most of the life was in the shallows 60-45 ft. The dive was about 40 minutes, after that we were just getting beaten up.

Duncan Rock

Here's some video of a recent dive out to Duncan Rock. The footage is a bit herky jerky, mostly because it was like being in a washing machine. Great dive, excellent topography-well worth it!

which part of the boat did you dive ? We dropped on the reef side at 24 feet and then swam down to the wreck at 50 feet .. once on the wreck it blocked all the current .. Pensacola has the Gps for when we dove it last July . The wrecked part? :dontknow: Seriously, I'm not sure where we were, I'm th...

ROFLMAO!!! I love it! nice work Dan in such adverse conditions!!! I remember a few night dives out there where the damn krill would come up and get so thick they'd essentially obscure your light... we'd alternate turning our lights on and off to see where we were going... The cool thing though, abo...

Currents, surge, swarm of krill, and oh yeah the Andalusia

Made a weekend trip out to Neah Bay to check out some new, and some well known sites. The Andalusia was one of the dives. The surge was bad, there was current and the krill was so thick, it destroyed visibility. The wreck is scattered all over, but there is a lot of life, and some interesting struct...

Went scootering from shore (from Carillon Point, where the ship yard was) to check out 3 targets this weekend and found 3 wrecks. Vis in the lake was about 30 feet!

Didn't get video on this run, but we may go back for some.
