I second Spatman's recommendation for the shop in the Hillsboro area.

Re: Oregon dive this weekend

Have fun. I'd try and crash your dive trip but I already have my weekend planned. Here's a link to some info about Speelyai Bay Park which is where you'll be diving. I usually park at the far end of the lot and then enter the water to the right (west) of the docks and ramp. There's a little trail t...

Re: Oregon dive this weekend

I didn't look at tides before I sent the link to Netarts. With new gear it may be a better Idea to hit one of the close lakes in SW Washington. On the Canal you will be doing a night dive leaving that late from Beaverton.

Re: Mikes Beach

Mike's Beach is a dive motel in more ways than one. I have stayed at mikes quite a lot. It is not fancy. If you expect a fancy place go some were else. Mike's has clean simple accommodations. I do not know of anyone who has ever had an issue with the air station. There are two outside showers and a ...

Re: Portable Lightweight Decompression Habitat

Way back in the day. :rawlings: Many commercial diving operations hung a inverted T shaped bar for divers to stand on while doing deco. We were all vigorously warned to never sit on the bar because it could impede circulation and thus impede off gassing. Habitats that are not vented or monitored can...

Which entrance do you guys use? We normally use the entrance by camp site 63 near the kiosk. Down the steps and to the east from the kiosk is a little beach.

Re: Learning to read tides...

Another thing that will help you out is if you go out with other experienced divers, ask them about how they planned that dive. Especially if it's one of the more current sensitive sites, ask them why the time they picked is a good tide to dive it. I would like to add to this it is good practice to...
