WTB: O2 kit
I'm posting this for a dive buddy. He's looking for an O2 first aid kit similar to those seen in the back of the DAN magazines. Complete first aid kit not required, but he's looking for a bottle, reg, etc.
Thanks!
Thanks!

FS: Rustic Octopus Table
I refinished this coffee table using iron/copper paint to create the rust/slight patina. Octopus is a silvery color. I intended to keep it, but am now considering parting with it. It is sealed so it could be used outdoors on a deck during the summer, but I definitely wouldn't leave it outside all ye...

I dove Redondo this afternoon at low tide, and viz was maybe 6-7 ft. Hopefully, it improves for you all as the tides comes in this evening. The life was good though!

Re: No-knees Dive Training
15 years ago, My husband and I were OW certified at Blue Hole in NM with 80 ft of water below us. Knees were not an option as there was no shallow end there. There was a PCV "platform" suspended with buoys next to us to allow for an occasional finger hold to reorient us. BUT, we were not a...

Been there, done that....NOT fun! But, that's how I met OldSalt. :) So something good came out of divers turned into dominos! I now try to be proactive with sites prone to wind waves and check the marine forecast first. It tends to be much more reliable than the regular TV news forecast. http://www....

Hi old friend! Here are a few from Kona many years back. Not the best, but you are free to use them if you wish. I have no recollection of the circumstances of this little plane though.

I understand, and I will. From the map though, I cannot tell if parking on Maplewild is allowed or not.

Re: Parking at Three Tree
I have a PDF file that he sent me that shows where parking is allowed. I tried to attach it, but seeing that it is PDF file I am not tech savvy enough to attach as a picture. Basically the only legal parking is angle parking along the hedges from the gate at the hedges to the end of the hedges. Of ...

Redondo poop smell??
I dove Redondo this morning and noticed that the water coming out of the pipe by the stairs smells like POOP! Should this be reported? If so, where does one report such a thing? I've been diving Redondo for almost 15 years now and have never smelled that before. YUCKO!

Re: Pacific Spiny Lumpsuckers
The last time I dove Redondo was Thanksgiving weekend, following 2-3 particularly large storms. I noticed that a ton of eel grass had been ripped from the shallows, along with a lot of the pink/green aggregating anemones, and deposited down around 40 ft all along the shallow line. I took this as a b...

FS: UK LED Light Cannon
Yellow, pistol grip, UK LED Light Cannon, no box. I bought it last month, and it's been in the water a whopping 3 times. The reason I'm selling it is because it is TOO BRIGHT for me, even on low! I know that reason would seem strange to most of you, but it is just too much for my taste. Retails for ...

Re: RE: Re: 25 dollars for what????
There is no gate to open or close. They tell us that its partly for keeping the restrooms open. Though the half dozen times we have been there we stayed in the parking lot overnight in our sprinter and no one came to close the restrooms, they are open all the time. Hmmmm, wonder what that was that ...

Re: 25 dollars for what????
Since the parking lot is closed at night, I would assume the $25 goes to pay for the person's time to come and lock up after you. Seems totally fair to me. Why should they do it for free when they don't have to do it at all? Just my 2 cents.

Re: Emergeny procedures at night
Hmmm, both rescues I performed were at night. Both were divers that came to me out of nowhere that were not my buddies. I don't recall not being able to see a problem. My computer is backlit, so I could see that on ascent with no problems. I guess I don't really have any tips on how to practice a ni...

Re: Parking at Three Tree North
This is the time of year that I avoid 3-Tree. Parking sucks, the neighbors are grumpy, and it's just too dangerous. There are way too many boats trolling way too close to shore. I narrowly missed getting hit in the head by a downrigger + buzzbomb at Sund Rock a few years ago (a safe place supposedly...
