Re: Monday 12th
The present plan is for myself and Linedog to meet up at Titlow Beach at about 5 pm, splash about 5:30-5:45ish for slack tide/current at 6:20 pm. If anyone else would like to join us please come on over! :smt064 I'm only planning one dive, but Linedog has another tank for a second dive so if anyone ...

Re: A Bit Further Down the Road
Glad things are going good, sounds like everything is progressing very well! I'm kinda like Bassman - I just try to accept the remaining pain (though my docs have not forbidden me from the tylenol etc), and I try to adjust life where I can to lessen the amount... I am still taking the Gabapentin as ...

Re: Monday 12th
I could probably make that time - got someplace in mind? And would you be OK with a novice diver (6 dives under my belt)? Down in the south end, I've done Les Davis for my OW cert dives, and one at Redondo for the club gathering this summer. Not night-certified, either.

Re: New Challenges
Sounds like great progress, A.D. :partydance: Dusty, a question for you since you mentioned back problems... And it may turn out useful for ArcticDiver too, if it's not stuff he already knows... How do you end up dealing with the weight of the dive gear? ? After every dive session I have done (with ...

I finally made the trek up north to go diving with my brother yesterday, and what a great weekend to go... Biggest reason was to give me some practice time in the mostly-drysuit I got from him, try out some new gear (BC and AL tank vs steel), and then just to have a good time in the water. All goals...

Re: New Challenges
Keep plugging away at the therapy and exercises and all that fun stuff. Took me several months before I felt even halfway back to "normal" from the surgery on my neck. Be patient while being persistent. :-) Sounds like good progress so far, we'll keep fingers crossed it continues!

Hey Ross - how visible is the display on that computer? As my eyes get older, I have a harder time seeing small print and such... It is an adequate computer with a smallish but simple display. The numbers are larger than most wrist watches and look even larger under water. If you aren't night divin...

Hey Ross - how visible is the display on that computer? As my eyes get older, I have a harder time seeing small print and such... I don't have a dive computer yet, so it sounds pretty appealing - but only if I can read the face :calvin: At least now I have a decent light I can shine on it :supz: Jim...

Wow, that is way cool... I bet if you had wetsuit gloves with webbing between the fingers it would make for great directional control... Looked like you were doing some serious flying along there!

I had a great time, met a lot of great crazy people, tried out some new gear (Thanks LCF! ), and worked on getting a step or two up that ol' learning curve... Many thanks to Pennllppyypants :-) for being such a great organizer!

Lynne, gear and your presence will be fantastic! No food necessary. Jim, Lynne is bringing extra can lights, and I highly recommend you try one, but be forwarned, can lights are crack! Fortunately Dusty has a reasonably priced option available.... Also, few shops rent bp/w setups, and if you're in ...

Does anyone need gear? I'm not planning on bringing extras unless there's something someone needs or wants to try out. Holla! A spare light? I'll be using rental gear from the shop for the most part, I didn't think to ask about one of those... We get 2 free rentals as part of the OW class deal, so ...

I will try to make it - would love to meet folks... I'll try to convince Alexitt to come down too, if he's not working. If he can't make I will need a partner willing to put up with a newbie just fresh from OW certification dives. Wife and son *might* come along and hang out on shore... Is the...

I don't recall exactly and the guy sarcastically said, "only do this if you're a trained aqualung tech". But basically, he popped it open and straightened out some flexible flap. Ah. Sounds like this issue: http://www.aqualung.com/AL_comm_techlib/AL_comm_files/ABSRetrofitInstorePoster.pdf...

Re: Aqualung "ABS Octopus" - cold water question
I haven't had any real problems with it personally in Puget Sound during winter. It breathes ok (not good but it'll get you to the surface), is light/compact for travel. My partner has had no end of trouble with his though. First, he noticed he couldn't inhale from it when on a tank after getting i...

Aqualung "ABS Octopus" - cold water question
Hi all. I went to the big sale at LDS last weekend and dropped some money on a regulator, etc setup to start my own gear collection. One of the pieces I ended up with was the Aqualung ABS Octopus, as a mid-range secondary air supply piece. Then I get home and read thru the info sheets inside the box...

Re: Ash Diving
Ummmmm, WHY?????? I've had days when I was desperate enough that I thought I'd dive almost anywhere, but that's a bit much. If you want to do an assessment of how the ashfall is affecting the aquatic environment, getting eyes on it to see first-hand, this looks like about the easiest way... As a ge...
