Re: Lake Washington Dive Sites

This weekend, I saw a couple divers carrying their gear down to the lake just south of Madrona Beach. https://www.google.com/maps/@47.6070234,-122.2831871,308m/data=!3m1!1e3 What dive site would that be? They seemed like they had regular tanks so is there something worth seeing at recreational depths?

Diving as lockdown phases out

Reading through the Times' writeup of the phased easing of restrictions and was wondering about the logistics of getting back in the water. https://www.seattletimes.com/life/what-inslees-4-phase-plan-to-reopen-washingtons-economy-means-for-your-life/ Are dive shops planning to do curbside dropoff/pi...

Re: UW Camera Equipment "Sale"

I looked at the Backscatter sale as well and did bite on something cool and it seems to be a legitimate deal. Backscatter Mini-Flash / Snoot combo for $314. In December when released it was $499. https://wetpixel.com/articles/backscatter-announces-mf-1-mini-flash-and-os-1-optical-snoot The MF-1 Min...

I will not be diving with the group for the foreseeable future. Would be willing to do dives with a single buddy planned via DM. Have fun. Bring wipes because those Redondo bathrooms are filthy.

Fun photos! That PMH shot must have been very difficult to get at that eye-level angle.

I'll post some of my recent shots to the thread later tonight. Been meaning to share those here.

Re: South Australia Adventure - Leafy Seadragons and Pyjama Squid

Great cephalopod pics. And the seahorse picture is really cool. It reminds me of the pygmy seahorse pics except not nearly as flat as a lot of those turn out. The texture of the gorgonian (or whatever it's on) really pops.

Re: Galapagos on the Deep Blue

Really cool iguana photos. How close did you get to the whale shark? I remember how hard it was to get a shot of one with good white balance at that depth. Looks like you were at 60-70ft?

A couple sculpins maybe? Wasn't really looking. Pretty sure you could do a night dive off the dock if you wanted, though.

Hornby Island Sea Lions 2020-01

Earlier this month, I headed up to BC to dive with the steller sea lions at Hornby. Getting there was as much an adventure as being there. My trip started Sunday, and my original plan was to catch a Saturday Nanaimo ferry to give myself some slack. All Saturday ferries were canceled because of high ...
