You'll want to look at what local divers dive. Ask questions. A local network is invaluable. Megs Revos those GUE things a few JJ's Megs are made down in Chehalis, so are easily serviced locally. I had around 100 dives before I moved to CCR. You likely wont need to travel to get trained, Mel teaches...

I just use the lined smurf gloves with a thermasilk glove liner for added protection. Worked for me in multi hour dives

I would take Tacoma, its overall cheaper. You are about midway between Hood Canal and Seattle area diving, plus have Ruston Way right there.

nothing except boat traffic. I kinda hate boat diving lake during boating season, cuz its all torn up. Winter time is suweet and smooth.

Over the past 8 years, Jeff and I have seen 6/7 six gills. All 6 of mine have been in Hood Canal. One was an adult, rest were juveniles. Jeff Gerritsen saw an additional one in redondo on another dive. Last one I saw was in 2017 (September)

Sundown Diving will do long dives in Nanaimo. We did multi hour dives there. There are some great deep walls in the San Juans
