Re: Sunrise?
Hi Holly, Sorry for getting you excited about Sunrise. I was going from memory on the currents. As I mentioned, the other most do IMHO is Hood Canal and specifically the more norther sites. Give Pacific Adventure a call. Don Coleman runs a fantastic operation and the sites phenomenal. Hood Canal is ...

Re: Juggling a dive light and camera/strobe
N00b question here: I just got a proper strobe for my camera, having never used something like this, how do you juggle a dive light and a camera/strobe? I've seen some just use a focus light for a dive light, and I've seen one guy tape a regular dive light to the strobe. How do you deal? Canister l...

Lumpies at TTN
Kim (onefish) and I headed over to TTN this morning to check things out. Vis is still holding up pretty well. I was surprised to find 20-25'. The other surprise of the day was finding a lumpie hanging out in the kelp. This was during the day. I'm still forcing myself to do nothing but wide angle. Th...

I love the galaxy shot. Very nice.
I was lost too on the "hitchhiker" until you gave the hint about the white dot. You're right, once you see it you can't not see it.

Re: The ongoing 'Dond Lumpie and Friends Show ...
Thanks Ron, Jeff and Kim (onefish) for a great dive. Kim found the one item I've been aching to see, a big, beautiful snailfish. She also found me an awesome big meaty pipefish. I decided to leave the 10-17 fisheye on the camera for the night dive just so I can get better with it and although the re...

Met up with James and Kim this morning at (yawn) 0500 to dive the eel grass. We did a 72 minute dive and only found three lumpies..... That second one is fantastic Ron. It has an amazing feeling of depth. My pics on the other hand, well what can I say. Sometimes it just doesn't happen. https://lh5....

Don't be so fast to judge. They could be hapless stooges in the employ of a more sinister character hoping to get a "free" upgrade to his aging d100. Not that I'd know anything about that and I'll deny whatever octo confession you may be able to extract.

Re: The biggest Lumpie Ever
Check out Clipframes for a sharp and attractive framing option that is really cheap. Under $10 per frame if you buy online. I prefer to print at 11x14 and put them in a glass clipframe that is 100% of the size of the print. These frames are basically a sheet of glass, solid backing, and 4 metal cli...

Awesome! If you are getting good results with Costco, you will get outstanding results with http://www.mpix.com. Their prints are slightly more expensive, and you have to pay shipping costs (usually a flat $5). But, if you order multiple prints at a time, the shipping cost is really no big deal. Th...
