Re: SS Bunker Hill, or "Lessons Born in Flood"
Are you guys slated to go out and do the stern yet? Actually we have been on the stern 2-3 times but it was several years ago (pre-Josh). We recently have been concentrating more on the bow section because it is a significantly larger piece. By the sound of things you have a fair amount of experien...

Re: SS Bunker Hill, or
It is a lot of gas that is for sure. You are going to chew through just under 500 cu ft of deco gas. We typically have 20+ CCR and a few OC divers in 3 man teams put in the water every 15min. Each team is carrying around 600 cu ft of bailout. Extra 80's clipped off at 70' and 30'. With all the team...

Re: Was the SS Dix found or not?????
OK, help me out here as I've been out of the diving loop for a few months now.
So It hasn't been identified now? What about all the media attention saying the DIX had been found? Was this all in error?

What an awesome story. Can one of you guys post some details of the dive profile? I am interested in how you staged gas and what the deco obligation is for a dive like that. Hey, Matt! I'll fill you in a bit about the profiles privately. I usually avoid posting details publicly, for a variety of re...

Laurynn Congrats on your first Gov dives. Over the years it has come to be one my favorites. Everytime I think I have it figured out it reveals a little more as if just to remind me that I don't. So what's next on your list? Sampson? Bunker Hill? BJ & I got real lucky with our find. I had been i...

Re: Anyone up for the Governor July 8 or 9th?
When did you dive it? I have done it myself several times have some friends who have not and want to so trying to fill out a boat. I have always felt the Governor was one of our best deep wreck dives in the sound myself. That is if you have scooters and spend a good amount of time to see as much as...

The DIX is a interesting piece of local history. Looking forward to seeing more pics and video (?) Keep them coming. ROB Hi ROB, I think KCPQ (Q13) will broadcast some of the video that was shot on the wreck tonight at 10 PM (9 PM on JoeTV). I'm sure it will also show up on YouTube or similar at so...

It looks like the Seattle Times just picked up this story: http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/localnews/2015079322_dix18m.html It always amazes me how different the story sounds when someone else writes it. :nutty: Nice job Scott. Must have been fun working with Oceangate on this. The DIX is a i...

Re: Maritime Documentation society (MDS) Dives missile Silo
Very cool! So if someone were to take sidemount tanks and drop them down the shaft, load them on the kayak and drag them down the 1600' tunnel, wouldn't that be more comfortable? You could do the walk in nothing but a BC and harness. Just thinking out loud. ( for Lynne) :stir: We only used RB's for...

I was in Bellingham last week. Ron is out of town until next Mon 01/16. Give him a call at 360 676 4177. I'm sure he'll be happy to answer any questions.Pez7378 wrote:And MORE great reviews! Okay, let me ask this. If Ron is sending the suit out to be sewn, where is he sending it? DUI?

+3 for Ron. Many seals replaced (worn out) along with a couple of zippers over the years. Never had any problems. Worth the trip.

Bigsky and I along with a group of regulars who I won't bother naming have been diving the local wrecks for several years now. At first we would just remove the line and move on, just to be greeted by more the next time we visited. This is not by any means a new problem. As far as cleaning up we hav...

Re: je boyden
Well maybe the people who laid those lines can report if its still in use? along with the measuring tape etc. Personally I don't have a huge issue if people are actively surveying (or looking for) something to leave line in the water. When they are "done" they should be cleaned up to a re...

Well. I should have done this a while ago. I finally dived the new unit today up at Muk. It was sweet. Very interesting watching the solenoid do its thing. The p02 is much more stable than I could ever do manually. I'm really going to enjoy this- especially on scooter dives when I have my hands ful...

I however have decided to disable the solenoid in mine. Fully manual RB's seem to be all the rage lately. (inside joke)

I think the idea is to fill shop charters. Most boats won't leave the dock with 3 divers.bigsky wrote:local trips to local shipwreck
