Re: Scattering remains?

Sorry to hear about your dad. My mother-in-law passed away a few years ago (also around the holidays) so I know how tough it is. We have been scattering her ashes all over the last few years. Several times we've just waded into the water off a nice beach (Belize, Catalina Island, Cannon Beach and So...

Glad to hear the diving was still great (even with the plastic). I can't wait to see the new and improved ledge!

December in Howe Sound

A few weeks ago the weather forecast was not looking great for a Keystone dive, so my buddy Matt and I decided to head up to Vancouver to visit the Sea Dragon crew and dive off the Topline. We lucked out with only 7 divers on the boat and surprisingly calm seas considering the forecasted gale warnin...

I like the nudi shots! My buddy Matt that you met at Keystone is a Trekkie. Hopefully we can meet you guys for a dive next month and you two can geek out while I roll my eyes and make stupid Star Wars jokes :neener:

Don’t forget a shovel to dig a new trail down to the beach. I saw on the news that the main road flooded at high tide, so I can’t even imagine how eroded the bank is now!

Sunday December 9th. Around Bowen Island in Howe Sound was a little gritty but still between 20 and 30+. Not bad at all.

Re: Well this weather is kind of crappy for diving

Lol, we bailed on diving Keystone last Sunday because I didn’t want to be out in the rain and wind. Luckily my buddy has a bunch of unused dragon passes on the Topline, so we got to still go diving and we didn’t have to get wet :pirate:

Re: Dives last weekend

It was good meeting you guys finally! Looking forward to it again sometime. The jetty is in such good shape these days compared to the last couple years. Less barnacles and urchins, and more color than there's been. That big octo was really cool! Also, on our first dive after we finished checking ou...

I'm sorry you feel that way I found a very rare nudibranch there last month.. Nice pictures by the way !!! Lol! It was good to finally meet a few of you guys out there. That was some fun diving! Hopefully everyone got to see and photograph the pretty orange juvenile wolf eels. Next time hopefully I will have more time to socialize. Have fun in Mexico Bob!

Re: Speaking of Keystone

Thanks for the advice Dives were great, definitely going back to see this location again! Glad to hear it worked out! The more that you are able to dive it while learning how to plan around the currents, the less intimidating it gets! It also gets more and more fun when you start learning the nuanc...

Re: Skyline 11/17/18

Skyline is one of the top Dives here ? Easily the worst dive around. Nothing to see but barnacles and hermit crabs. Plus the current will probably kill you even on a good day. Everyone should just go to T-Dock or Cove 2 :angelblue: In my previous non-career as a mediocre not good enough to be a pro...

I’ll be out there around 11:45. I drive a maroon F-150 and my buddy and I talk a lot of smack to each other. Somedays we even kinda look like we know what we are doing!

Skyline 11/17/18

My buddy Matt and I finally made it back down for a quick adventure last weekend at Skyline Wall. The vis was a decent 20 ft but the dive was pretty lame. The cucumbers were not out feeding and we found all of zero candy stripe shrimp. It was pretty much a waste of time even bringing the camera. We ...

Re: Keystone Sunday 11/25 for Bob's going away party

I was already planning on being out there for two leisurely afternoon dives (the one benefit of living in the north end) so I guess I can stop by and no longer remain anonymous! Since you guys are getting there early I’ll be the guy parked and gearing up in the nosebleed section by the bathrooms.

Re: Speaking of Keystone

Making sure I’m in line with this. As we approach the end of the jetty the current will dictate the decisions and the point to turn around. Then: Getting into the water early on Saturday is no issue as long as we are away from the end of the jetty before 1:00 (13:00) You got it. There will be some ...

Re: Speaking of Keystone

I'd recommend getting there as early as you can. Slack before flood followed by mellower flood currents off of admiralty head are the most user friendly at keystone. The slack before ebb usually doesn't last long if at all. Going into an almost 3 knot ebb, you would probably be better off being done...

Saltwater State Park was a good 30 ft this morning. It was my first visit there, and being able to see the structure clearly was pretty nice! Vis dropped a little on the 2nd dive at low tide but was still an solid 20+.

It's an end of an era with Phil no longer out there :( I've had so much fun on that boat, I started diving it in 2002 just before Phil took it over. Wow, Candy! Great shots. I need to head out Sares soon. I hear it is hit or miss on the candy, but my buddy has the GPS for the snakelock part of the ...
