Re: Strobe Light Problem

The pic u posted looks like only the camera's internal flash was "sync'd" to the exposure. Your external flash unit should have some switch to select what "pre-flash" your camera uses in Av mode. In Av mode (Tv, auto or program modes as well) your camera uses pre-flashes before t...

Re: More controversy over NAUI's photo contest

Unless you are either a small time photog and don't really care if you lose rights to your picture, or if you are big time enough that the prestige of having your pic used by NAUI is worth it, I'm not sure why you would enter a picture in the contest under these terms. My .02 PSI Why not? They're l...

free-loaders at Sunnyside

Bought a Canon system from Dusty a while back and finally jerri-rigged my Sealife strobe's fiber optics cables to fire consistantly. Also, been playing with a couple dioptic lens addition to get better magnification. Here's a couple pics of some free-loaders hitching a ride on a jelly and suckin' on...

seen this only once before...

Seen this guy only twice now, both times in south pudget waters (Sunnyside this time) and floating in the top 10-15ft. of water. The tail or tentacle illuminates like a jelly. Any idea?

Re: My SmugMug Account - Underwater Photos

I like Smugmug for its ability to create catagories, sub-catagories then photo galleries with-in those I also use Picasa but they lack that ability to organize photos into catagories so you end up with a lot of un-organized photo galleries. Both Smugmug and Picasa are easy upload pictures to. In fac...

Re: FS Canon A640 camera outfit

Awesome! I can see my old rig found a good home. If I was was going to try a new camera out sunnyside would be my last choice. Yeah, but its the closest site for me. I've actually got some goods shots there, mostly on night dives. Some things i like about this Canon that I couldn't do with the Seal...

Re: FS Canon A640 camera outfit

Got my Sealife strobes attached and found some time to test this camera setup. Went to Sunnyside, where it was pretty dismal for critters. Saw this huge Berring hermit crab (i think?). Saw no fish, only 1 little sculpin...that's it! No perch, pickleback, rockfish...nada. Kinda weird...
