kayak Dives
If you ever want to actually do a kayak dive, lemme know. I have several dive kayaks that I'd be glad to share. Almost everyone I have gone with is very leary of it before hand. They realize how complex, but yet, how strangely simple it is afterwards, and how many more dive possibilities there are a...

Day Island Timing....
Great info! I do have a question regarding slack prediction though. In the original post it was stated that the entry should be calculated based on the "slack before ebb". Is it possible to dive the slack before flood as well or should that be avoided. Thanks in advance! Day Island has so...

Betty's Kayak
She was way ahead of her time on kayaks... :) What makes her so special to me is that she dove with a friend who used to get around in a wheel chair. A kayak was just a natural extension of his mobility. He dove, and I'm sure he dove well, and kayak diving allowed him to participate on an equal lev...

Re: Betty still dives ... and how!
Betty still dives ... and how! I'll meet her tomorrow in Bellingham. She didn't bring her gear from BC this trip, but I hope to charm her into the water another time. I got my kayak, and have been kayak diving for the past 15 years specifically because of the dive references Betty Pratt-Johnson has...

Re: Brainstorming for the P-I
So, two questions: 1. I freelance for the Post-Intelligencer's Getaways section (which featured Jackie and Val and Scott et al in the Hood Canal last spring). My editor's all psyched about the new Mountaineer's book: <a href="http://www.mountaineersbooks.org/productdetails.cfm?PC=826">151...

Thank You Jan!
Jan,
I have the print that you signed, and gave to me on our Pt. Townsend Bottle Hunt Dive framed, and hanging proudly on the wall of my living room.
I consider it my finest treasure, in over 26 years of diving!
I think you you often!
Thank you!
My very best wishes!
Sincerely,
Kevin Casey

GPS - Dive Sites
I'm looking to mostly use it for dive sites, actually, esp for finding or diving sites that are new to REEF (ie, sites that don't already have Zone Codes). Not a "must have" and definitely a toy, but one I think I'd use more than I realize. Thanks for the input, keep it coming! -Valerie I...

Perhaps if nudged a bit, she'll post it! OOOH-RAH! What a milestone!!!!! ...

Princess Kathleen
Dave shared a dive with me on the Kathleen, and the Sophia a few years ago... gawd has it been that long....? There has not ever been a wreck, or even any dive I have ever done in 26 years of diving for that matter.... that has inspired me more then the Kathleen.. The Sophia was more of a tragedy......
