The Michelin Man test did find a leak in the wrist seal, so it was semi-successfully. A slightly less safe Idea would be to do it underwater clipped into a boey anchor...we decided against that one. I wish I had a pic, and it what I did worked better, but Jake and I dove Lake Washington a month or s...

I am looking at the same deal for working on my beetle: Home depot had a propane heater for a 1100 sq ft area for $99, and the tank was $27. We need to get it filled, but I'm told 20lbs is about $10...so that'll heat for 10-12 hours. The kerosene lamp did the same off 2 gallons of karosene, and I th...

Get yourself an old rusty van. Strip out the back and buy a few cans of Hurcules Bed liner, coat the botom, and maybe a foot up the walls, finally, drill out some drain holes in the bottom. Totally waterproof and will take a beating (from what I've heard), so you can hose out the van when it gets di...

I was under the impression that you don't want to store it with the zipper closed, so I hang mine on the wide shouldered drysuit hanger with the zipper open and let it be.

Drysuit features

So.. I am weighing the benefits between the 3 pinnacle suits: Freedom, Evolution, and Evolution 2 I need feedback on these features: Si Tec Low-profile valves vs. their regular valves How important is a zipper flap? Nylon/polyester outer layer vs. 220 cordura (really necessary?) how inconvenient is ...

OR does the FAT you gain make you more buoyant and you have to add weight??? I prefer not to think of it this manner, us bigger divers are just more hard-core. Sure you DIR guys back everything up and dive the same config, spending hard-earned scuba bucks on industry leading gear...but I have physi...

I wish they still made cartoons like that.....
I watched Armageddon this weekend:
Steve Buscemi: no wait, I saw this one, this is where the coyote straps himself to a rocket and sits in the sling shot right? 'cause I remember it didn't work out too well for the coyote.
NASA: we have better rockets.

I love my 119, it's hp, so even if I can't get an hp fill, i still have 100cf of air. I'd say go nitrox, its worth it and if you get a bigger tank, you'll want longer bottom times.

all about drysuits

So, with winter fast approaching, I'd immagine more and more people are thinking of going dry (i can get a new drysuit if I can find funding for winter quarter tuition). So I thought a good thread (maybe future sticky) would be what people love/hate about their suit. Maybe; Brand/model: Style: Loves...

cool USGS site

So, learned about this place in geography today. We happened to have our earthquake leacture, which went well with San Jose's 5.6 last night.
It's the US's site, shows a map of all the recent quakes:

welcome to lake diving, it's fun if your in a spot where you can feed perch...not the most ecological thing to do, but in a man-made lake, I don't think it matters much ( I am refering to lake travis in Texas, havn't dove lakes here yet)

I have heard nothing but good things about the flower gardens, it's a overnight trip as I understand it, since it's about 100 miles out. The freshwater in central and west texas is all mud-bottom and you will think we have crystal clear water up here.

My wife's roomate before she joined the military was a stripper. It was intersting to learn the ins and outs of that industry, and sad at times.
EDIT: forgot to add, at $400-500 a night though, she was pretty well off.
