Wednesday EUP dive
Just wanted to thank the Wednesday EUP divers, Scuba-Noob in particular for hosting a great dive. I am a new diver and it was fun to finally get to check out EUP.

Re: Whatcom Skagit Island Dive?
I have a passport and no felonies!!!! So I would make the trip to Canada. I also would love to supply the boat for boat dives in the SJs. I still think it would be great to get some kind of regular dive going and it seems like that requires a reliable shore dive. Is there anything worth looking at i...

Re: Whatcom Skagit Island Dive?
In Minsk- I would love to do a boat dive but this Thursday is out unless the weather changes. NOAA is saying 15-25 mph winds with waves building to 2-4 feet. I don't know what the dive would be like but the boat ride would SUCK and probably take 90 mins to go the 12 NMs to most of the sites I know o...

Whatcom Skagit Island Dive?
I am probably the wrong guy to start this thread but I am a new diver so, of course, filled with enthusiasm. I see folks from Whatcom, Skagit and Island County pop up here on the boards. I would like to see some kind of regular north end dive get set up. Has anyone tried to set up a weekly dive at R...

Re: Anyone Want to Dive EUP Saturday AM
Ohhh, thanks for the tip. That is a good point. I am new at this whole planning thing. According to this site: http://tidesandcurrents.noaa.gov/get_predc.shtml?year=2011&stn=6030+Admiralty+Inlet&secstn=Edmonds,+2.7+miles+WSW+of+&sbfh=%2B0&sbfm=44&fldh=%2B0&fldm=06&sbeh=%2...

Anyone Want to Dive EUP Saturday AM
Looks like slack water is at 800am. I would be interested in one or two tanks if there is time.

Re: Dive Lights
Ok, so I haven't been scared off. This may be a dumb question but it seems like lights most reliably compared based on lumen output. Is this correct? Would anyone posit a minimum useful lumen level for a primary light? I am going to rent lights from my LDS to try out a few.

Dive Lights
I am a newer diver. I just dropped a huge painful load of cash to get a basic kit. I am starting to look at dive lights. My instructor had one of those fancy Halcyon dive lights that could probably double as an arc welder but told me "you don't want to know how much I paid for this" and th...

Re: Need ideas for dive boat!!! Help me before the wife chan
I would second the welded aluminum recommendation. I am a new diver but have been boating my whole life (I have a Hewescraft 18' Searunner). Particularly when buying used, aluminum is a safer bet. Fiberglass boats can have hidden issues that are hard to uncover during inspection (dry rot in structur...
