Re: Big Buddy/Club Dive - Redondo, August 16th!

Strange, I thought the setup fee was to get the screen set up for your logo, and it can be put on anything...Just one set up fee applies. If they are charging another setupfee, then me thinks they are taking advantage of us.. [-X The girl shirt thing, if you consider it seriously, take a look at the...

Re: Big Buddy/Club Dive - Redondo, August 16th!

smaller size does not accomodate bustage/boobage. If pez wears a large in Mens...then I think I gotta be an XL in mens. sheesh. Second vote for girl shirts. Just a FYI for Pen...sometimes girls shirts are cut very small (juniors sizes not misses) and so XL is even too small on me. My whitewater kaya...

If you could buy one of three things..?

First of all, thanks to the many folks on this board for their help in talking me through some of my weighting issues, and also the folks at the club dive that helped me try out new gear and move weights around. I dove a BP system yesterday. I dove with people who had HID. And I figured if I had a s...

Re: Big Buddy/Club Dive - Redondo, August 16th!

Everyone, thanks for coordinating such a wonderful day! I wanted to be a little buddy (and try out new types of gear too!), so I pleaded my case before the jury (random strangers on a sidewalk). The Judgement came down that I was to dive with Chris, along with Benoit and Peter joining us. Chris did ...

Re: Big Buddy/Club Dive - Redondo, August 16th!

Thanks for the clarification about big/little buddy. I am going to throw myself at your (insert random stranger here) fins and plead little buddy status. My goals for Saturday, although quite a few, might be manageable? If at all possible, try out one or two different back plate systems. Otherwise, ...

Re: Big Buddy/Club Dive - Redondo, August 16th!

I never heard definition of a big/little buddy.

How do I know where I fall?
I am planning on leaving Portland around 640am, so I should get there about 9am either way. Should I try to get there earlier!?!?

Re: Big Buddy/Club Dive - Redondo, August 16th!

Wonderful, I am excited to just check out the systems even if I won't get to try to dive one. Thanks for setting this event up! I will be bringing home made banana nut bread, and zuchini bread (forgot to add the nuts to that loaf I think). ](*,) I will also bring a few chicken dogs just in case as w...

Re: Returning to the water - Underwater that is

Wonderful. Thank you. I am really excited to try out the backplate system. I had one...for about 1 month (3 dives). ANd then stopped diving (due to the neck injury) and so sold it. So I can't even remeber how those things work. It was a Halcyon system I am pretty sure. I met my husband about 2.5 yea...

Try out backplate systems?

On another discussion under SCUBA stuff...there is talk about back plate systems and that folks might be willing to let me try out their setup. So..if I could put in a request, may I try out someones back plate system on Saturday? Sounds like there are some great systems, and different price points,...

Re: Facebook, anyone?

I think it is about the same thing here. Just a place to "write on a wall" to set something up.

I don't use it, but found some friends from school on it. SO that was cool. And we are setting up annual swim compeitiions for my old team once a year. that is about it.

Re: Facebook, anyone?

I tried to find the NW Dive Club, but couldn't. Is it hidden under another name? Or does it not exist and folks were talking about starting one?

Returning to the water - Underwater that is

I used to dive pretty heavily. Well I considered two weekends diving a month pretty heavy considering I was driving from Portland to Seattle/HoodSport. =D> I also used to be part of a SHeriff's Office SAR/Water Rescue team and I was the only certified Underwater Investigator. I have since moved away...

Re: ANy way to drop weights?

Some really great points. I will try to address them (and add more questions). Yes, my new undergarment is the MK3. You had to add 8 LBS? Hmm...that might account for some of the extra weight. Although I use ankle weights, my feet still float above my arse (bent at knee for comfort diving, feet usua...

ANy way to drop weights?

I seem to just have some heavy arse hips. Or sumptin. In a 7ml wetsuit, I used 44lbs of weights. In my Whites TriLaminate drysuit (with rockboots) I think I use close to 40lbs still. Most divers I know use a around 25 or under. At least back when I used to know other divers! I have one set of ankle ...

Golly! Everyone seems so excited to participate...can I come too? I am a diver with many dives in cold water. SOm...

Re: Take pity on me this Saturday? Dive Hood Canal?

Well it was my first dive in several years and now that I got back in the water a few times, I am remembering my tricks (ie like doing my OWN air) and techniques to make it a better dive experience. My first time back on the water, I wasnt' remembering much and I wasn't exactly paired with buddies w...

Re: Take pity on me this Saturday? Dive Hood Canal?

Thanks for the info. I finally called an old dive buddy who lives further away and he put me in touch with a dive shop that was coming up there for OW classes. I contacted Salem Scuba and Alan was awesome enough to encourage me to join them and that they would have other guests with them who would b...

Take pity on me this Saturday? Dive Hood Canal?

I think I am ready to dive this Saturday. Spent 2 hours getting one drycuff glove back on (after drysuit repair up in canada). ](*,) Tomorrrow hopefully only spend 1 hour getting the other cuff on. :naka: My regs will be worked on my Hoodsport N Dive (tune up), and so they will loan me a set to use....
