Re: Taking it out for the first time today.
While I agree with almost everything said, don't get too OCD about it either. As people have mentioned, you'll be diving in a range of conditions and salinities so things will change a bit from dive to dive. I can notice a difference between Mukilteo and Neah Bay for sure, but not enough to have me ...

Wow. I wish I could have learned from your brilliance before I wasted all that money on continuing dive education.Wagon173 wrote: They teach you everything you need to know in OW.

That's Awesome dude. Another one hits the crack pipe. :blackblink: :koolaid: Ideally to weight it you want to use 4 weight pouches. All four for saltwater, and two that you remove to adjust for freshwater. The difference isn't really huge though. I never bothered weighting mine for freshwater. While...

Cool. They're actually doing the same thing to the delta of the snohomish river. The breach of the dikes around Ebey Slough are currently planned for 2012. I know this because my house backs up to the future floodplain and the army corps of engineers sends me regular updates on the progress. They're...

if you want to cover ground or fight current the frog kick is where it's at Well, what David Rhea taught me in the caves in Florida is that fighting current or flow is exactly where you jettison the frog kick. The reason for that is the glide phase -- during that phase of the kick, the current is s...

Glad things with Bob have gone so well. I wouldn't expect anything less with him. Keep your mind open regarding that frog kick. Scissor and flutter-kicking in silty Puget Sound wrecks the visibility. We dive busy sites and there are always other divers not far behind. thats a good point I hadnt con...

A good fill is one that has you looking at the pressure gauge, doing a double take, and then tip toeing to your car and laying the tanks in your trunk as if they were full of TNT

Another vote for hp100s. If you still have the bands from your 80s you could probably reuse them.

Re: Advice on Scuba Tanks
My Favs from the XS lineup are the X7-100, X8-119, and X8-130. I have all of them as singles as well as duble 100s and double119s. If it were my money, I'd get a 100 and a 119 or 130 (whichever is the best deal). I did this when I was starting out and was able to very tanks for say deeper dives or l...

Re: How Many Phones
I really like my Iphone 4. Can't complain about the battery life either. When I go to the car auctions once or twice a week I use an app that decodes the vin tags using the camera and is constantly accessing the internet via WLAN or 3g and even after hours of that and a couple more talking I usually...

Well after searching high and low for a replacement battery pack and not finding one that would definitely fit my can I got on the phone with the guy at battery space who convinced me to just buy the individual cells and rebuild the pack myself. Since I was a little unsure about the wiring and had h...
