I was also concentrating on stills. Here are some of them (including the 1st sea lion we've seen under the Puget Sound!). - Carl track.png IMG_2102-Edit.jpg IMG_2117-Edit.jpg "Keep your friends close and your anemones closer." IMG_2142-Edit.jpg IMG_2192-Edit.jpg IMG_2203-Edit.jpg IMG_2208-...

Edmonds Kelp Crabs and Friends
After more than a year, I finally figured out how to get good color video from my Canon GX7 II camera. Here is 85 seconds of clips from a Friday dive at Edmonds. I couldn't believe how many kelp crabs were crawling on wreckage of the Triumph. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6C5bsQFTC-Y&t=6s Here...

Re: Divers discover 26-foot worm-like sea creature (NZ)
'The strange creature has been identified as a Pyrosome, a bioluminescent mass made up of hundreds of thousands of organisms that feed on plankton. Pyrosomes are actually colonies made up of individual pyrosome clones that can grow up to 60 feet in length, according to LiveScience. “Pyrosome colonie...

Non-divers can see sea creatures tomorrow
If you have friends or family who don't (yet?!) dive, but would still like to see what's down there, have them go to the beach tomorrow. It's the lowest tides of the season and there will be Seattle Aquarium Beach Naturalist on hand. Tomorrow, June 16, at 1:30 pm, the low tide will be -3.3 feet lowe...

Re: Why isn't there diving near Bellingham?
Is that the Loch Ness monster??? Maybe that's the real reason no one dives in the area. There is something out there, but at low tide she isn't swimming. Other sightings: https://www.google.com/search?ei=LrkJW6KhKNCy0PEPlIqQ6Ak&q=%22samish+bay%22+nessie&oq=%22samish+bay%22+nessie&gs_l=p...

Thanks for the replies.
Yeah, we did notice some mud. Here is the Samish Bay, 12 miles south of Bellingham, 30 minutes after lowest tide.

Why isn't there diving near Bellingham?
We recently kayaked in the Chuckanut area, just south of Bellingham. The sea-carved rocks are wonderful. Why don't/can't people dive around here?

Re: Attached Drysuit Boots Cause Floaty Feet?
(I'm the original poster) Thanks for the tips. They worked! I moved 10 lbs from my trim pockets (about half way up my back) to my dump pockets (at my waist). That did the trick. (Indeed, I may move a little weight back). Somewhat independently of this, I'm also considering replacing my neutral split...

Thanks for all the tips!
Penopolypants, I can't make the dive tomorrow, but I very much appreciate the offer of first-hand help. For now, I'll see what my buddy and I can figure out.

My dive buddy thinks she may have seen people with straps around their boots to (we presume) lessen the boot volume.
Has anyone heard of this?

Attached Drysuit Boots Cause Floaty Feet?
Greetings, I just got a DUI Yukon drysuit with boots attached. I love the convenience, but my feet feel much floatier. Is this expected? Should I just add more ankle weights? Details: Before: White Fusion Fit Drysuit, with separate boots. Current fins are Atomic split fins, which are considered ligh...

Any advice on where in the Seattle/Bellevue to get a Bare Techdry (UW Sports don't list it, Silent World doesn't list products)? Can it be ordered with Sitech cuffs?
Thanks,Carl

Re: Is there a drysuit with attached boots and rings?
JT, The "Trilam Bare techdry" looks good (very similar to the DUI Yukon). How did you get the Sitech drygloves added? (what options did you get on the wrist and neck of the Bare on your original order?)

Is there a drysuit with attached boots and rings?
I'm looking for a new drysuit, but can't find one with the features I'd like. I'd love advice. The features I (think I) want are: * One layer of trilaminate material (my current White/Aqua Lung Fusion Fit has two layers, which is annoying) * Attached boots (to save a step while dressing) * Rings lik...

Can you help identify what I saw today at Keystone Jetty. It's some find of shelled(?) critter feeding by pulling in feelers(?). Thanks!

Re: Fix green with Lightroom?
why wasn't your strobe working User error. I wanted the simplest settings and had it set to "Auto" instead of "P[rogram]". In "P" you can say "Flash On". In "Auto", even with the flash up, the camera decides for itself whether to fire it. I've previ...

Re: Fix green with Lightroom?
Thanks for your suggestions. With just Lightroom's Auto WB and Auto tone, it still ends up green: IMG_4605 - Copy (2).jpg justlightroom.jpg But with Photoshop's Auto Color, it looks better: fixup2.jpg autocolor.jpg I don't see any thing like Auto Color inside Lightroom, so I think Photoshop is the b...

Fix green with Lightroom?
Greetings, In Photoshop I can vastly improve the green of pictures like this with just a few clicks of the "auto" features. (I think it's basically noticing that the histogram of each color is shifted and just rescales them to overlap.) Does Lightroom offer the same feature, or is one just...
