Re: Skyline Wall (Burrows Pass)
I tend to not bother with Skyline in the winter due to the long drive and the high probability of fresh water Skagit dump messing up the dive. It's sure a nice dive on a decent day but it certainly can be lousy with crap viz and current. You will be happy to know that your assessment about diving S...

Re: Keystone dives today ...
Bob, great report. Can you tell us what time you were out at the point of the jetty; I would like to note the difference between the predicted slack and the time you were there.

Re: Skyline Wall (Burrows Pass)
January 26, 2013 at 2:44 PM: I did my first Skyline Wall dive yesterday. I talked with Kelly at Anacortes Dive and Supply before the dive and she said the same thing; too small of an exchange and the current might not change directions. We started our descent early, 37 minutes prior to the slack bef...

Re: Cobalt Computer Floods
HA! I was noodling on this three-letter acronym all day yesterday. On my way home from work, I thought I had figured it out; Lighthouse Diving Supply. Only that’s not their name, it’s Lighthouse Diving Center. Local Dive Shop makes much more sense.

Re: Hello from John
Thursdays are not an option for me. I volunteer with my local fire department and Thursday is drill night. Weekends are open though.

By LDS you mean Underwater Sports Seattle (which is the shop that provided me with the gauge set)?

Cobalt Computer Floods
On my 32nd open water dive with the Cobalt, it flooded. It was working fine on shore and during our surface swim. On descent, I did not watch the gauge (I have one hand on my nose and the other on the dry suit inflator). When we hit bottom at 53 feet (as measured with my wife's Cobalt), mine was dar...

Y2K Bug in Cobalt Computer
Funny thing happened with my Atomic Cobalt computer on New Year's Eve; it didn't roll over to 2013. Okay, not exactly a Y2K bug, more like a Y2.013K bug.
I called Atomic Aquatics, they will be working on a firmware fix. No ETA given.

Re: Hello from John
You guys were right, it really was like falling off a bike. My wife (Lynne) and I did our first open water dive after being out for over 21 years. We both were amazed at how easy it seemed. Granted, we both have spent a couple of months working out in the pool, and we've done 3 pool dives getting fa...

Hello from John
Hello all. My name is John. I was first certified in 1975 in Lynnwood (Aquarius as I recall). Back then, steel tanks were out, aluminum was in, we didn't use computers, you just had to memorize the tables, and it was two years before NOAA started considering the use of nitrox for SCUBA. My, how thin...
