Re: Rock Fish Behavior????

I hope its not "panting" because of low dissolved oxygen. More experienced Hood Canal folks might know.

Re: Death of a Hero(2)

Doc, The video you posted was much more entertaining than mine. Dusty, the fix I got was just the glass lens. I had to install it myself. They supplied the housing with a foam ring that was supposed to prevent this. I forgot to put it in. :BDub: It popped at 98 feet. It is irrelevant now that GoPro ...

Death of a Hero(2)

This is not the greatest video ever and really doesn't do justice to the wreck but it is fun to watch the GoPro die. I also tried Youtube's "shake fix" which made the clip look all jacked. Won't do that again.

Yeah GoPro is totally kaput. The SD card is ok and I am actually going to post a video of the first wreck with the GoPro death clip included when I have some time to edit.

Nanaimo 9/22 9/23

Got to do a trip with my LDS Adventures Down Under to Nanaimo this weekend. Used Sundown Diving as our charter. Epic trip. Did four dives, Saskatchewan, Cape Breton, Dodd narrows, and Gabriola Pass. Had 50-70 ft viz through out on every dive. The only bummer was that I forgot to put the foam spacer ...

Life Insurance for Divers

Anyone here have life insurance? I am looking for quotes and when I tell them that I go deeper than 100 feet they all get fidgety. I know about the DAN insurance but its not enough coverage for me, I am the sole provider for wife + two kids so I need a fair amount of insurance.

Re: Porteau Cove, Howe Sound BC

Please don't misunderstand me. I really enjoyed diving there and it is worth a trip. The facilities are very diver friendly and the wrecks are fun to dive. Each wreck has its own buoy with a label with the name and depth below, showers, nice camp ground. The drive up there is actually quite scenic a...

Re: Charters in Bellingham

As a native 'Hamster I can second that B'ham Bay is a mud hole. However, it is a bit closer than Anacortas if you want to run to the Cone Islands, Sucia Island, or Pt Lawrence. The only dive charter who operates out of Squalicum Harbor (Bellingham) is Washington Diver's boat that Grateful Diver ment...

Porteau Cove, Howe Sound BC

This is a late report but I finally finished editing the video and wanted to share it. Did a couple dives with my LDS, Adventures Down Under, up in Howe Sound. I had never done any diving up there and was looking forward to hitting some of Canada's artificial reefs. We ended up going to Porteau Cove...

My First Scuba Videos

Go easy I am just getting the hang of this (that includes the editing). But this is the first usable footage I have decided to make into a clip. Its more just figuring things out right now but I hope with some practice to improve. http://youtu....

Re: Worthington 119s as Doubles or Singles...

That is good to know thanks. Its not that big a deal. I dive down south once a week or so anyway. I love the 'Ham but there is no shore dives here. Closest shore dive is muk so I am in Seattle all the time.

Once I am released from my probation I gotta get that sucka out again.

Koos the class you mentioned, is there a classroom portion or is it just dives? It is tough for me to drive to Seattle for classroom time, I am used to it for dives.

I happened to notice the page on the dive x web site where it tells you exactly how much weight to start with. :BDub: That might have been something to reference prior to the dive he he he.

First Scooter Dive

Just wanted to say thanks to Paul for helping me with my first scooter dive. I didn't properly weight the scooter at first and I was struggling and cursing mightily. I kept thinking this looks WAY easier on youtube. I had a moment were I was thinking why did I blow a giant wad of cash on this beast....

Doc I was going to take the class but spent all my money on a Master Snorkeler Certification. I will be at MMM at 600-630 with my scoot if anyone wants to join in the fun. I figure if no one can scooter worst case is I will just do a dive. (I am still interested in the DPV class once I pay of...
