Lynne and I were able to get a couple of Suunto Mosquitos for a very good price. On trips they are our watches -- of course they also serve double duty as backup computers/bottom timers/etc.

Have spares can be a very good thing.

Re the "watercraft" restriction at EUP. I put on my lawyer hat, read the definition used and decided that a DPV was NOT "similar enough" to the described objects to come within the definition. Someone else could come to a different conclusion. IF ticketed, I'd use the "Bette...

I've taken several different PADI specialty classes (and one NAUI class/Nitrox -- and I don't consider my PADI Rescue Class a "specialty class") and quite honestly, the only ones I thought had any substance were my UW Photography class and my Pacific NW Fish ID class taught by Laurel Lefev...

Only wear a snorkel when I have to wear it which is when I'm involved as a PADI DM Candidate (and when I will be DM'ing). Standards require it be "worn" and my Instructor requires I have it "useable" when working with students, otherwise it is lashed to my belt. The more interest...

First -- take a class in digital photography from your local Community College; get familiar with YOUR camera and take lots of pictures -- lots of pictures of the same thing but changing something (aperture, shutter speed, ISO). After taking them, study them. What do you like? What don't you like? W...

Looking for a diver named "CANNON"

I found something in Cove 2 with "CANNON" written on it. If anyone knows this diver, please have him/her get in touch with me to claim it. I've posted about this before and I'm trying one more time.

Lost a Dry Glove -- 9/5 -- Cove 2

A dry glove fell out of the car last night at Cove 2 about 7 p.m. If anyone reading this found it, please give me a PM. It is a white neoprene glove on a Viking ring.

NWbrewer -- I'm not a member of that board and have no desire to join another one. IF you are a member, would you be so kind as to put my post/information on there?

And, anyone else, if you are on a relevant site, please put the info there too.

In fact, it's one I've been thinking about getting....

BTW, I've posted this here and on ScubaBoard -- any suggestions for other places?

Found Dive Computer at Cove 2 -- 25 June

I found a dive computer near the I-beams tonight.

It has some distinctive markings.

I will gladly return it to its rightful owner.

Lost hood Mukilteo St Park -- 12 May

Evidently my dry suit hood (Deep sea?) went on a walk about yesterday. If anyone of you picked it up, please PM me.

Doug, FOR THE CLASS I removed the retractor and for a while I'll use the SPG. BUT, I'm quite content to risk death by using the AI computer with a retractor instead of an SPG and a bolt-snap. Yes, it is harder for someone else to read my pressure, but honestly, so what? If they want to know, they ca...

I like my AI Cobra but I took the compass off and put it in a DSS boot. There are many reasons why I favor the Cobra over an SPG -- ease of reading (for me); gives me lots of real time info; is a redundant source of info regarding depth/time; easy to download for historical info including air useage...
