Re: Help with choices on custom DUI Drysuit

+1 to both LJ and Captn. Zip seals are worth it and I made the switch to the silicone ones and won't go back. Zip seals save a lot of aggravation if you get a leak because it's a quick fix and don't have to lose a day of diving because of a leaky seal. And I prefer the silicone to the latex seals. W...

Philippines Diving - Dumaguete or Puerta Galera?

Hello NWDC Folks! So as extreme luck would have it, my wife was fortunate enough to win an all inclusive trip to the Philippines from the UWS Diver's Fair last night. We've never gone to the Philippines but have heard the diving is stunning. However the trip requires us to pick between the two Atlan...

Heck dtodd, if you make sure it's clean, dry, and in good shape when you return it I'm not even looking to make anything off it, happy to lend it to you while you enjoy the waters sir! It's my travel rig and I'm not doing any warm water travel until September so it could use some love...

I've got a 1-size fits all Zeagle Tech Express that's not doing anything right now. I'd be happy to rent it out to you for your trip. I'm in Bellevue if you'd want to swing by and give it a try.

Re: Diver missing in Tacoma?

If the story is as reported, it is an object lesson in how bad group diving in Puget Sound is as a practice. Even when our viz is good, it's not good; if you have eight people in the water, it's just all too easy to lose track of one of them. I have been in situations where people wanted to dive as...

Alrighty friends, unfortunately due to schedule conflicts on my side of the house I haven't yet been able to connect with xBabyJesus. So I'm going to put this out there, I live on the eastside and work in SODO. I'm going to throw the bag in my car and take it with me to work on Friday and first pers...

I'll take it, I'm in Kenmore/Kirkland, and work in Redmond. Lemme know. Thanks, John John, The bag is yours. It's all packed up and ready to go to its new temporary owner. When would you want to meet up? I'm in Bellevue and could meet you on the eastside somewhere this week to hand it off around 5:...

Re: FREE: Goodie Box P.I.F.

Already ladies and gents! So I received the overflowing PIF Bag from Tang last night and it's chocked full of lots of goodies. I've had a chance to look through it and select those items I needed or wanted and it's ready to go off to the next lucky diver. So I think it's time to set up the list agai...

Re: Beginners Camera

Joanna, Depending on how complex of a camera you are looking for, I have a pretty simple starter rig that takes great photos and is super easy to use. It's a little older 9MP camera (circa-2008) but still works and shoots like new. It's a complete setup with 40m/130f rated case, camera (Panasonic Lu...

Re: FREE: Goodie Box P.I.F.

I have the PIF Box currently (which is a bag now), and am done adding stuff to it. It's chock full and all the stuff can't even fit inside. I made an attempt to corral some of the smaller items into a bag within the bag. I've got an OW buddy who's going to rummage through it tomorrow most likely, t...

Re: Newbie question about weight configuration

I kind of thought I was waaayyyy over weight. When my new to me drysuit comes back from dui I'm going to hit the river. Start with Kyle s calculation... which would have me carrying 28 lbs using aluminum. Maggie, You mentioned hitting the river, so one last throw in, if you're diving in fresh water...

Re: Newbie question about weight configuration

44 pounds with a steel tank? I think I know why you were having problems with your buoyancy. Where are you in the PNW? If you're in the Seattle area, I'd be happy to meet up with you and help you get your weighting straightened out. I think you are probably grossly overweighted, and it's making you...

Scoobie Doo,

Any chance you might be up near the Seattle UWS tomorrow? They are having some reps from ScubaPro and SeaLife in to talk about new gear. I'm going with a friend and could grab the bag from you there. Otherwise I'd need to wait until the weekend.

If not for the reel I'd say it looks like a shop rental setup... Koos, if no one claims it I'll take it off your hands. I have some new divers looking for setups and this could be a nice set to start them with (after it's serviced to ensure safety).
