If I recall, didn't you lose someone on a scooter? A newby to sccoters? Search for how long? Surface, wait for buddy to appear? That is what I learned in my rescue class taught by a dive professional. Not following the protocols taught by NAUI rescue standards and finishing the dive could be conside...

Re: Shore dives on the Sunshine Coast?
Tuwanek point is a great dive..... there is another one called-I believe- Cooper's Green that is also nice. None of my resources on hand have any info on shore diving along the Sunshine Coast. I want to get up there during my vacation end of Jan/beginning of Feb, but want to do it on the cheap, i.e....

Re: So here I am at SEATAC
They are testing for high levels of nitrates and things that are common in RDX, Semtex, ANFO and TNT I wonder why they thought it necessary to do a Bomb Swab on my carry on? Maybe because I borrowed the bag from Joe, and I thought Hmmm, I wonder if Joe used this bag when he went shooting or somethin...

Like I said, I do understand how you come to your conclusions.... and for the most part I agree with you after they have been convicted. (there will always be a number that slip through crack that really are innocent.... Just like the guilty ones that get away with it.) My argument is only that we s...

hmmmmm.
I have spent a lot of time around both felons and cops..... At least I can trust a felon to be a felon. I can't say that I can trust a cop to be a cop. (I was married to one for a long time) the exposure I have to the police turned my stomache. I learned that-much like lawyers make it out to be- the...

Lamont, You can't make sense and post on the web. i hear ya. it is just troubling to wonder how the poor girl drowned with her air on, and reg in mouth (supposedly that is how the dive master found her). very sad. air could have been 1/4 turn on, which is on at the surface, but off at depth. happene...

Any diver that doesn't give the effort to assist one that is in potential danger shouldn't be in the water. Not all divers are PSDs or Dive Medics or Rescue divers for that matter, but best efforts should be made. Jesus we are talking about a life, not a page of legal BS. Before you read this please...

I don't know if this post will help or hurt Mr. Lundy in his search for people to take this class with him . . . But, FWIW, I dive with Scott regularly, and hang out with him topside a fair amount. He's a great diver and fun to hang out with-taking this class with him would be lots of fun. You hang...

Re: What are your favorite "special" dives?
What are those PNW dives that you especially like? We all do Cove 2, 3 Tree N....etc. But what are the one's that you especially like for whatever reason. Maybe this thread will refresh our memories and remind us to dive a few more places. The best Puget Sound dive to me is Waterman Wall (boat dive...

If they're up for the drive Sekiu is great, not deep, and not current intensive. It is kelp intensive but it's the best shallow dive in the state. You could do Crescent Lake on the way back. You can even do Salt Creek on the way out to Sekiu as long as you time slack correctly. Doing all three of t...

I feel your pain brother. My knees came out ok, but one of my buddies has bad knees from jumping and road marching and a little cold sensitivity due some frost nip he got in South Rainier. Which unit were in, Blitz? I was in A Co., 2/75. I had one jump on a T10C while I was active duty and it was i...

I had one jump on a T10C while I was active duty and it was in it's first stage of use then (1988). Blitz, you must be a military man? Thanks for the kind comments. Blitz has it right. Thanks for the kind comments. Blitz has it right. MC1-1B is the nomenclature for a military parachute which has likely been superseded by an updated model since my glory days (ETS'd from Ft. I hate it when someone beats me to a good comment..... :) I am envisioning something along the lines of the scene from Apocalypse Now where the helicopters are storming the beach with the Ride of the Valkyries playing over the loudspeakers. Those stings are no fun, but I have to say thank you for the laugh. I needed it. I recently had my own episode of underwater tourettes in Hawaii..... I was taking a picture near a pipeline that had urchins on it and took one through the knee. Dawn reported hearing something that sounded like mother ...
