I'll be there, but gonna stay shallow. Finally got a drysuit so I need to get used to diving in it.

Hog makes a 23lb wing.

This will be used with an aluminum plate.

WTB: Small Travel Wing

Looking for a smaller wing to use for traveling to places with non-frigid water. I've got a 35lb DSS wing on my plate for local stuff, but I'd like something in the 17 or 20 lb size, maybe up to a 23lb?

Thanks guys. It was a Panasonic 7-14mm lens on an Olympus E-M5mkII.

Sund Rock 11/26

My wife and I had been planning on going to Keystone yesterday, until we saw the wind forecast. Not wanting to waste some rental tanks for our second dive, we decided to go to Sund Rock since we hadn't been there before. First dive we did the south wall. Got in and once we got under the hazy thermoc...

11/25 Sund Rock. Dive 1 was ~15-20ft, Dive 2 socked in to about 10ft. Really shimmery thermocline at the top 20ft dropping vis down to around 5ft.

Another good place for macro is Keystone when the tides are right. You'd have to take the ferry from Port Townsend over. But it's a very current sensitive site.

I might be switching to having every other friday off work around the first of the year. Can probably work it out to do some diving.

That'll drop even more the more you use your camera. Typically I'll take 2 or 3 of whatever I'm trying to get a photo of and move on. If something's not working for me in the first few shots, I don't bother wasting air trying to make it better. If I like what I see, then I'll hang around more though.

Alright. I'm now confirmed along with a +1 wife. Bradmond, if it's just a normal mask, I've got a spare you can use. If it's prescription or otherwise special, I can't help.

Jess, what's that pink nudi? (assuming it's a nudi). 6th photo. Never seen that one before.

Great photos all around. I still need to dive Deception Pass. Just need to find a set of tides that works that isn't during the day during the week.

Re: Junkyard 10/14

It's an Olympus E-M5mkII and the Olympus 60mm Macro lens. Dual YS-D2 strobes Nauticam Housing/port I think the lens is my favorite of any that I've used (including my old Canon dslr stuff). Maybe not quite as nice as the 70-200 2.8L for topside stuff, but it's close. I would have liked to get the E-...

Nicely done. I like that you kept the regulator noise in there in the background instead of just cutting it out completely.

Junkyard 10/14

Met up with Vadsam and one of his friends to do a dive today at Junkyard. Haven't been in the sound for about 3 weeks, so I was itching to get back in. Good 30ft vis the first dive, dropping a bit on the second. Saw a couple new things. Overall was a good day. Started out immediately with a Sturgeon...

Since I hadn't gotten any responses I was going to solo dive at Rockaway on Bainbridge. But I can meet up somewhere else on the Seattle side if you want. 3 Tree is always a good site.

Looking to dive this weekend but my wife is out of town and the usual buddies are gone as well. Anyone able to dive in the sound or hood canal?

My wife's air consumption went down when she switched to a drysuit. I'll know about mine in about a month or so when my drysuit arrives.

Re: 32 gig capacity with TG-4

I move data off the cards the day of shooting onto a laptop with a backup. On a recent trip the primary drive died, but I had it all backed up. So, basically, get the data of the SD cards as soon as possible and don't use them as a storage area. That's what I did on my trip. Import them into the co...

Re: 32 gig capacity with TG-4

Personally, I like to have more smaller cards. Swap them out after every day. That way if you get a card error or flood or something else catastrophic, you don't lose all your photos. I think I have 4 or 5 cards that I put on rotation. They are so cheap to get a bunch of 4 or 8GB cards that it's not...

Re: 10/8 or 10/15 Mukilteo or Edmonds dive

I wouldn't suggest doing Edmonds on the 15th. There's a pretty big tide change that day and the visibility will suffer. You want to hit Edmonds on a low exchange day on high tide for the best chance. The 21st or 22nd would be better.
