Re: Cave line

You might need to round off the edge of the holes in the DRIS light. Does not sound like a line or a knot issue - more like a sharp edge. How would you recommend doing that? I have a backup light with the same problem. I have a dremel tool with a little metal grinding bit on it that would work perf...

Re: Scuba Garage overhaul

I have a large slop sink in my basement that I use for rinsing in the winter. Nice to be inside and have warm water. Mine is an old concrete one from the 40's but I think you can buy new plastic, free standing ones at lowes or Home Depot.

Re: Christmas dive at Les Davis?

I didn't know I was going to dive today but now I'm bored. I saw the post a little late but I'd be down to go for a dive if I could hit the water by 3-3:30. I'm about a half hour from LD.

Re: Monday morning dive?

How about Three Tree at 10. We'll go check out the cruiser. If the vis/weather sucks or its too damn cold we'll do one dive. If we have a good time we'll do two.

One of the south end sites. Three Tree, Redondo, Les Davis. Although I'd consider Cove 2 or Alki Junkyad too.

Thanks for the offer Jeff but I'm going to stay in the Seattle area for the day.

Finnegankp, I was thinking around 9. I could make it earlier too.

Monday morning dive?

I'm up in the area for Christmas and was wondering if anyone would want to do a dive Monday (12/24) morning? Some where from Seattle to Tacoma. One or two. I just got a new mask and want to try it out.

Dammit all this time I thought Spatties' dome was the state mascot!
Nope, just on the state flag.
With a monkey face prickleback wrapped around it.

Awesome video Brian. Did Jeanna do any filming or did she get to just dive this time?

I'm sorry folks but I have to cancel. That's one boat out. I have some stuff I need to take care of here in Portland. Not sure if Spatty is still coming up.

Re: Tillamook Bay

Hello Diverman1, In Tillamook Bay my favorite site is "Three Graces". That's the three big rocks out in the bay just north/west of Garibaldi off Hwy 101. I've also dove the north jetty in by Barview Park and also out by the coast guard tower. I've also dove at "crab harbor" on th...

What's the planned meet time at the ramp? Could we do something like 9:30 or later? It helps us Oregon folks.

Re: Boat rendezvous

I'm still in. With boat. Two spots open. Richard and Scott, do you guys do this as a "dead boat" site or do we need to consider having a competent driver in the boat at all times? I thought that barges or possibly ships still use the mooring buoy nearby and, if so, what would be the policy...

As a matter of fact I am. For my range and setup the buoyancy characteristics of the 40 don't matter so much. If I was diving OC backmount or a Meg I would probably change to Luxfers........with PRO valves of course.

Re: Trade Catalina AL40 for a luxfer?

Sometimes people call the 200 bar with optional insert "pro" valves. I think that's a actually a marketing term created by thermo however. And it really doesn't mean anything. Damnit! You mean I've been buying these "pro" valves thinking they were serious professional badass val...

You must have been gone by the time we got there. During our SI some guys with a really nice aluminum commercial boat pull...
