Re: big jelly

Found one of these this past Tuesday at Day Island, just as we crested the wall on our way back in. It kept dive-bombing into the bottom, raise itself a few feet, then dive-bomb again - try to stir up food? I managed a few pics, despite the silt it was kicking up. Re: Mukilteo 7/24

Hey Jim,

Great seeing you getting out in the water! I was also able to take our class out to the dome, and introduced them to the wolfies. And yep, not one camera amoung us.

Re: Fish at Redondo

Eelpouts? They tend to be very active at night at Redondo. Perhaps also snailfish, as they are seen at Redondo at night, often in a curled up position.

Les Davis - nudi's everywhere

Did a few dives at Les Davis this week, and the nudibranch's are showing up in numbers. Especially numerous are the Tritonia festiva in/around 25-35'. Takes awhile for me to get the hint. Here's a couple from our April 21 dive at Redondo:

Re: Congratulations are in order

Also, congratulations to Jesse Miller (aka: Scoobie Doo) on his 1st place in the Cold Water Close Up and 2nd place in Artistic/Creative! However, I'm taking full credit for finding the critters for him...well, at least for navigating him back to the beach...well, okay...at least I didn't silt up the...

Re: Condition of the Les Davis Steps

The steps are clear, or at least they were the past two weekends. I taught OW there the last 2 Sundays - viz may have suffered, but the steps were fine.

Re: Injuries and Drying Out

I have seen that thing. I didn't know that you could get a prescription for it. I'll ask my Doc. (or if you still have yours and want to sell it, LMK!) :calvin: The only thing I regretted was not getting it earlier. I was non-weight-bearing on that foot for 6 weeks after the first surgery, and didn...

Re: Injuries and Drying Out

I tore ligaments in my right foot 3 years ago this July 11. Required a couple surgeries to install and remove titanium screws, and it outright sucked (and this was before I was fully addicted to diving). Not much else to do but rely on people, watch tv and cruise the net. I came across an item refer...

Re: Craigslist deals

I just talked to the guy. He's got someone coming to pick them up in 15 minutes. Hope someone off this board gets a steal of a deal... That was me, and I did. I was on the phone with him before 11am, and on my way shortly thereafter - long before seeing the interest here on the board. He mentioned ...

We found one of these last night at 3TN swimming along at about 15ft. I got a few fuzzy pics, but nothing as good as yours. Nice shot.

That strobe and glove look eerily familiar...lol.

I just noticed that Scubie and I found the exact same lumpy shown in Dusty's 6th picture....located on the exact same rock....four days later.

Here's one I took:

Re: Temp of cali waters?

I had a couple dives at Pt. Lobos out of Monterey on 7/9/09, experienced bottom temps of 47 and 48 degrees at 69' and 53', respectively. My instabuddies (locals, who all dived wet) really admired my drysuit, especially during the SI and while we were packing up to leave - while I was comfortable in ...
