Re: Do you carry a whistle?

ABSOLUTELY. And I'm not afraid to use it! :-) The other weekend when we were diving Pt Wilson and my wife was clear around the corner out of sight in the boat, I blew on that storm and she came a running. I was amazed that she heard it, but she did, plain as day. I highly recommend the storm. It is ...

Re: My Rongelap Atoll fishing trip (Marshal Islands)

We had some folks from the DOE (Dept of Energy) there while we were there. They were taking radiation measurements. Our guide was born there and seemed to be doing good. lol They have actually brought in tons of soil to grow local veggies in. The locals were always talking about what you could and c...

Neah Bay Memorial Weekend with Loanwolf

Big trip planned and with any big trip comes big logistical issues. First one started when I found out Loanwolf was in on Wednesday and I sprung it on my wife that Friday we were heading to Neah Bay all weekend. She was in disbelief for about 30 seconds until she realized I was serious. Of course, e...

My Rongelap Atoll fishing trip (Marshal Islands)

http://pensacolafishingforum.com/fishingforum/Topic342577-33-1.aspx This has nothing to do with diving, but there are some great pics and you can get a feel for what the water would be like if you ever get a chance to go there. I did go snorkeling though!!! I was on an 80 foot ledge and could make o...

Re: Drag the boat to Neah Bay or go 4 Wheeling?

Ill be in Quilcene on Sunday. You still planning on going out west? Yep. Will be leaving tomorrow night after wife gets off work. Cabins out there are booked full, so we will be camping/tenting. There are currently 3 other divers going. I could squeeze one more in if interested. We might very well ...

Or you could wear all your gear as you walk on the ferry. That would raise a few eyebrows. Make sure you take pics if you do.

Re: Drag the boat to Neah Bay or go 4 Wheeling?

Drift the current. I like the sound of that advice. Any recommendations on areas around Whidbey. I have heard the "pinnacle" just southeast of Keystone is good. I managed to find it on a chart and marked it on my GPS. What depth of water are you usually in? Are you using live bait or jigs...

Re: Lopez Island dive sites?

Watmough looked like it might have been accessible from shore, but I won't stake my retirement check on that claim. I don't know if it is private land to access the area or not. There is a small cove/beach area to the south side of Watmough. I have no idea if it would be a decent dive or not though....

Re: Drag the boat to Neah Bay or go 4 Wheeling?

I have a fairly stout halibut rod I could bring up for you on Thursday. It is wound with 40lb Test but perhaps I could pick up 80lb cheap at the Joe's liquidation. I don't have much tackle beyond large lead head jigs. Thanks. I already have 2 rods and reels that will fit the bill nicely. It sounds ...

Re: Drag the boat to Neah Bay or go 4 Wheeling?

I have also not ruled out the possibility of doing some Halibut fishing here locally if nothing else comes together. Of course, I have no idea what kind of setup I need to catch a Halibut. I know there has to be someone out there that can send me a few pointers on rod and reel setup... line size, l...

Chad, Wish I could be there. I will have my dive gear up at our cabin at Eliza Island. My big dive will be to set the mooring line for the season. Woo Hoo :partydance: . The following weekend I will be camping in the islands with my youngest son. Really need to get some good dives in. Scott Well, i...

Drag the boat to Neah Bay or go 4 Wheeling?

I just remembered Monday is a holiday and our CO is giving us Friday off! 4 day weekend for me. Unfortunately, wife has work Friday and kiddo has school, but Monday is off for everyone. I would like to go 4 wheeling at Moses Lake this weekend, BUT I could very easily have my arm twisted to take the ...

This is crazy, because I was just looking at the area and contemplating a job that I interviewed for...there's a dive shop in Reno that does diving at Lake Tahoe, you could try contacting them to see what they say: http://www.sierradive.com/ Also, remember it's altitude diving, so things are going ...

EA-18G Growler training. We are the first fleet squadron to get the Growler and are heading to Fallon to put the aircrew through the ringer. Lake Tahoe help anyone?

I am headed to Fallon, Nv in June and will have some time off (hopefully) to dive Lake Tahoe. I know there is not a whole heck of a lot to see there, but I want the T-shirt! I have heard of a sheer wall somewhere right near a beach that drops down to well over 200 feet. Anyone know the name of it, h...

For all the married folks: I remember when I first got married. My wife and I would have the "anywhere sex"... on the couch, on the stove, in the backyard, etc... Along came the kid and suddenly it became the "bedroom sex"... trying to be real quiet in the bedroom so the kiddo do...
