Re: Flip diopter holder for E- PL housings
Any idea how it compares to this for about half the price? http://www.opticaloceansales.com/ports-extensions-and-gears/port-accessories/diopter-holders/i-das-flip-diopter-holder.html?gclid=CjwKEAjwl7ieBRCK2rCtqcCS7jESJACZKQFKNj76ED-nzQl5aaWd3oY4zAiIj4aEpId4DSc_t_qSlxoC_Lbw_wcB It doesn't compare, a...

Re: Flip diopter holder for E- PL housings
Seems kind of expensive for what it does. Get it from Optical Oceans? The Nauticam brand for their housings is about 250.00 and flips out to the side. This is a much better idea, IMHO. The ridiculous plastic piece that Oly sells is 55.00 The guy that makes them is over seas. I got mine in about 7 d...

Re: How long should hoses last?
Just my experience but I had ended a dive at Three Tree and just after getting out of my gear I hear this loud air blasting sound. After the initial startling what just happened moment I turned off the air. The metal crimped end at the first stage had blown off. I looked at my dive buddy and said &...

You need a strobe or internal flash.....Period.carlk3 wrote:Does anyone around here use a red filter on their point & shoot? I assume if one did, you wouldn't then use artificial light.

For Sale E-PL5/Oly Housing
I know, I know........ I've decided that I want to house my EM-1 so I'm letting my (almost new) Oly E PL5 go. This kit has been on 5-6 dives and that is it! Camera 14-42 kit lens Zoom gear Evf 4 electronic viewfinder ( for land use) Oly housing with standard port Zen semi dome ( one dive) The beefie...

Re: Underwater camera basics..
In my opinion get a cheaper point and shoot to start. Just make sure that it supports macro photography as not having the strobe arms and all, you may want to stick to things you can shoot close up. Having the cheaper point and shoot with housing also builds on your habits on how to care for someth...

Re: E-PL1 Users Group
Sharpest lens I own...... Great for macro and for portraits as the lens has fantastic bokeh. Here's a pic that I took of my son with the 60 2.8 just to show you how sharp it is..... Still new to all the photography lens, but are you talking about the Olympus MZ 60mm Macro ? Yes. 60mm 2.8 macro for ...

You need to put floats on the strobe arms . I have 2.5 Stix floats on each arm and it's still a bit negative.

I just picked up the Zen Pen 100 semi dome for the 9-18 Oly lens. I'll be using this with the 14-42 kit, the 60 macro and the 9-18 ( when I get it).

Re: M.Zuiko ED 60mm f2.8 Macro
Anyone have and/or use the lens above? Seems to be a $100 off right now. More than an external diopter setup, maybe cleaner and better? Interesting that a single lens on sale is the same as the entire camera+lens+housing was. Sharpest lens I own...... Great for macro and for portraits as the lens h...

Re: Lighting Options for Camera (non video)
You can take some decent pics without an external strobe but it's a real challenge. You get fewer keepers and you also just can't take certain kinds of pictures. So, if you're committed to the idea of having a nice rig sooner or later, investing in a strobe is a good idea. I have only used Sea&...
