What that indicates is they have let there hosting fees lapse and there internet host has turned off there site. Not all that uncommon. Like your phone service if you don't pay they block your number till you do.

Yes, they are doing a major overhaul with staff, shop, product, ownership, and web page. They are still having great sales too.

I hope they get the name paid for at least. This is when the name sellers and smut peddlers pounce on linked names and make a few bucks off them.

UW Sports web site does not list there Everett store anymore. Maybe they are moving the store? I hope that is the case! Anytime a shop closes it is bad for ALL of us divers.

We were at Seattle Underwater Sports this evening, they told us the Everett store was only moving and would be opening back up in March. I dont know how accurate this info is, it is only what we were told by the people that work there.

I heard the story about UWS everett moving but don't know where, a while back I was in there and they were discussing a move to muk speedway.

SPD is still around and doing good from what I hear, due to my back I haven't been diving much. The remodle is coming along nicely and they hope to do in house Hydro tests which will be nice if that comes to fruition.

SPD is for the most part our LDS, With the limited inventory it doesnt look good, but from what we hear they are going to be restocking with many new gadgets and suits etc. We sure hope so, as of right now we are trying to get a drysuit for the wife, so we of course went there first, but they only had one in stock to look at. However, we were assured they are going to get many more in soon.

Good grief, I hope SPD is still in business. I just got a $50 gift certificate on Christmas to use at their shop. :steamingears:

From what I understand they are going to get more mid-range gear instead of only the high-ens stuff which for my wallet will be helpfull. I love those guys and wish I could afford to spend more money there.

I just got the official word SPD is closing its doors. They are liquidating if you need gear get up there because even they don't know when the doors will close perminately.

Damn ... that's a shame.

However it is that time of year when dive shops feel the most strain and more close up late winter or early spring than any other time.

UWS Everett: They lost the lease on their shop (I think their rent got too high). They are looking for another nearby location. They were hoping to be opened again in March, but, (my opinion) don't hold your breath (You don't want an embolism do you)?

Yeah it was looking nice, with their service shop and all. Whatta shame...my nearest to the South (UWS) and my nearest to the North (SPD) all gone.

This is strictly hearsay, but heard somebody else is buying the shop and is going to reopen in the same location, different name, etc. Did I mention this was hearsay and not guaranteed because I want you to be sure to understand I can't guarantee any of what I just repeated from somebody else. :chat:

Maybe it's time we northenders started thinking about getting our own compressor :thumb3d:
