You've obviously never tried diving Bob Rice Pond in Boise...........
Puget Sound isn't a pond in Idaho ... if they need toys there to make diving worth doing, swell. That's their decision.

Dave, seriously, we really don't need to be like Boise ...

By the looks of the VW, you could put most of it in to a goody bag.

In all honesty, if you remove all of the trash at Redondo, the best dive there will be in the eel grass at 15 fsw.

Oh and you can go to the, "Bottle Field", for your first dive.

Hey
Why don't we just keep adding bottles (with out Lables on them) to the Bottle field? :smt064

Bring your goody bags, full of bottles! :stir: :evil4:

Okay, I'm Done :stir: now.

I can't be there Thursday, as I'm leaving straight from work Friday for Vancouver (work day on the Annapolis on Saturday).

Those of you who can make it this evening, let's start with obvious trash (there's plenty of that), and maybe schedule another date in a week or so when we can go collect some more. If someone else wants to suggest a date and meet time, I'm cool with that.

We don't need to turn this into a project any more difficult than just a few good "citizens" picking up some litter.

See whomever can make it this evening at 5 ...

Well, the weather kept everyone but me and Cheng away ... Kelly showed up, but concerned about the potential for a thunderstorm decided not to dive. Just as well, the drain pipe was gushing some really nasty stuff out into the Sound, and the water down to about 30 fsw was inches of vis, and frankly looked like that P. Cousteau video from the Gulf ... seriously nasty looking. Below about 30 fsw, vis opened up to nearly 10 feet.

We made our way down the line to the carousel boat and back up a bit north of it, sweeping up odd bits of junk and several tangles of fishing line. By the time we made it back to the first boat, our goodie bag was stuffed full of odd bits of plastic, rubber, some old electronic parts, what looked like the tire off of a wheelbarrow (still on the rim), and some odd bits that I really couldn't identify. We left a great deal of things behind because we found eggs or other forms of life growing on them.

I hadn't intended to take T-Rex and his buddy Buzz out ... but we found them lying on the bottom just below the boat ... broken almost in half. So out they came.

Given the vis, we attempted to surface once we reached the top of the drop-off ... but the goodie bag was too heavy for my BCD to float me with it in hand ... next time I bring a lift bag.

For those of you going to DATC ... how about some of you doing a bit of clean-up work while you're down there? The place really could stand some TLC ...
