Quake predicted - are your cylinders well stowed?

Post by geo »

Hi All,

The guy who predicted the Loma Prieta quake in '89 is predicting a good-sized shaker in the PNW this week:

Prolly nothing, but it reminded me that good cylinder storage is just common sense when living in earthquake country.

I have a good-sized storage rack in the garage, guess I could strap my dive tanks up against that in groups. Still need to anchor the rack to the wall though...

OK, off to Home Depot. :supz:

I was wondering though how(or if) others secure their tanks when not in use? Does anyone here have some good quake-preparedness tips to share that might help minimize the risk of having multiple high-speed torpedoes bouncing around in the garage during one of those infrequent shakers?

I admit to having been pretty slack myself in this regard, mostly just leaving my tanks standing upright in groups against a wall or other sturdy object. But I think I can do better!

Thanks,

-geo
