All,
I posted this on ScubaBoard, and I'll post it here:

If anyone would like to send any words of hope and support for the survivor, please PM them to me, and I will ensure he gets them.

Thanks,
D

Its kinda of sad now that both have been publicly identified. Now its finally real. I first dove with John and Bob at Lobster Shop Wall sometime ago.

Bob was a pretty experienced and knowledgeable diver that John looked up to. John was just beginning to dive doubles back then.

He was a very enthusiastic diver, looking forward to learning more about deco, deco gas selection, trimix, and tec diving.

Always had a smile and something nice to say when I'd see him around.

Sad. RIP, and I wish some measure of comfort to the survivors, whatever that might be.

Sorry to drag up old bad news, but was there ever any update on what happened, were they doing deep air etc? A lot of speculation at the time.
