Found Dive Computer at Cove 2 -- 25 June

Post by Peter Guy »

I found a dive computer near the I-beams tonight.

It has some distinctive markings.

I will gladly return it to its rightful owner.

Dang!

A dive computer. I thought I had found one of everything, but, haven't found a dive computer.

Guess I will be looking for that lost scooter next.

Wow!

I hope they read the boards!

Must have been a wrist mount of some sort that a strap or bungee broke or came loose of... I'm trying to mentally picture how you would lose a computer, and how you would not notice it fairly quickly... and IBeams no less! Perhaps it was a secondary?

It has a digital read-out with a depth gauge, nitrogen loading bars, and is roundish but kind of a rectangle with a wrist strap. It is primarily black... How'd I do?

Sounder -- Not close!

In fact, it's one I've been thinking about getting....

BTW, I've posted this here and on ScubaBoard -- any suggestions for other places?

NWbrewer -- I'm not a member of that board and have no desire to join another one. IF you are a member, would you be so kind as to put my post/information on there?

And, anyone else, if you are on a relevant site, please put the info there too.

try craigslist, its free and this time of the year there are a lot of divers checking out gear for sale.

Peter, you could also notify some of the dive shops around here. I found a weight pouch at EUP and took it to the UWS near there. It was reunited with it's owner fairly quickly because she called to see if anybody had found it.

Well Tom, I may be able to help you with that mental picture that you are having a problem with...

I had a bungeed wrist mount pop-off while taking off my gear in the water at Davidson Rocks a few years ago so that I could pull myself up into a RIB. I checked my computer upon surfacing and again once in the boat only to find that it wasn't there and the bottom was at 180 fsw. Bye, bye computer...

At least it was for a good cause as I had just completed two great dives that day (Deception Pass and Davidson Rocks). Losing one at the I-Beams would be more painful!

That IS an interesting question- Did it have, like, 3 months of deco on it when you found it?

So I don't know about all types of computers, but some brands like cochran, the computer contains the owners name adress and telephone number, but you need to have the downloader to be able to pull that information off.

Maybe take to an authorized dealer of whatever brand it is and see if it can be done?

Just a thought....
