Question for some of the (other) old-timers out there:
I was looking at an old Cousteau book on octopus and squid the other day, and it said that Keystone jetty used to have some sort of underwater port/viewer that people could look out while divers brought things like octopus up to it for them to see. The book was from 1973 and it was no longer in use by that point, so I assume this was a mid-60's thing that was long gone when I first dove there around 1974.
Anyone out there remember anything about this?
Keystone observatory
Re: Keystone observatory
Wow,
How cool is that?
I have never heard about it before.
It would be great to get more information about such thing.

"Let's go diving!"
Re: Keystone observatory
I'm old, but my early dives focused on the San Juans. While I don't remember such a feature at Keystone (Coupeville?), there was an underwater observation station built by a UW professor north of Spencer Spit. Flower Island, I think.
