I might go tomorrow. A couple seminars I would want to attend. Unfortunately I have to work today.

Doing the treasure hunt Sunday morning to support the Wa Scuba Alliance. Will have a look at the show after that.

SJ and I went today!
We went for a couple hours in the late afternoon. We didn't attend any of the seminars. It was fun seeing friends, and talking to a few dive ops we haven't tried yet. We didn't really check out any of the gear.

Went to hear about warm water travel deals and get genersl info. Wore my ‘northwest dive club shirt’ and people asked me about the club. Hadn’t been in a few years, and it seemed smaller than I remembered.

I am glad that it is back in Tacoma.
Thought the admission price was a little expensive for the amount of vendors that were there.
It was nice to see some friends.

The vendor rate is quite expensive for the amount of attendees as well!

The vendor prices are crazy high.

I wish they had more northwest stuff at this show, this show was pretty tropical focused.

Random ideas to do that: more local dive clubs represented (including NWDC), shops/instructors, booths with info on local dives sites/charters, and maybe a local photo/video showcase.

A compressor booth would have been great too :)

I brought compressors to LOTS of the shows. When I decided to no longer make the investment in the show and just give my local customers special pricing instead, I sold a lot more compressors. For me to do the show costs me the equivalent of one compressor. That means I have to sell a bunch of them just to break even. The last three or four years I was exhibiting at the show, every compressor that I sold had been previously sold so I didn't even pick up one new customer.

The Marker Buoys and most of the other clubs had booths there for years. Rick was good enough to trade member-power help for booth space, a win-win I think since the clubs are non-profit and work with small budgets.
But, in years of being there we never picked up a single new member until the last year when the vendor count was lowered, he moved our booth inside, and none of the other clubs showed up. Then we got a few....a few. Back in the UW Sports Dive Fair when they were still our sponsor we'd get 15-20.

From an administrative perspective it simply was not worth the investment in member resources.

The scubajet was on interesting toy, but expensive and no real facts on it, like an actual depth rating, and runtimes besides just sayin an hour with nomention of configuration, etc. If they gave us a loaner, we'd runit throughthe paces, but I'm not gonna do that for them an pay 2k to do it.
