Faceplant!

Was diving keystone yesterday, getting in, when I unexpectedly tripped on a rock and faceplanted in about 1.25 feet of water. I sure was glad I had my reg in my mouth, as it could have been mucky otherwise as it did take me some effort to get back up. Other than a shock of surprise, all else was good.

A good reminder for everybody to ***always keep their regs in their mouths*** on entry and exit.

Great diving otherwise!

So glad you are okay. I was so focused on not slipping on the rocks (with my regs in) I didn't even hear or see you fall over. Super scary!!!

But also a fantastic weekend of diving!! Keystone is looking soooooooo nice right now!!!

Somebody died wading in 2-3 feet of water at sunrise maybe 15 years ago. Super sad incident. Buddy couldn't help him.

So good to learn from those mistakes. It sometimes is not easy getting up!

Thanks for sharing this incident and the note of caution.

No matter how experienced, we are all capable of a simple mistake, stumble, or equipment failure. Be careful and be prepared!

Good reminder! Early days I was always super careful but then felt like I was being over cautious and stopped consistently having the reg in during entry. Will restart!

With my Meg, if I faceplant, I workout enough to be able to get back up with some effort. If I fall on myback, I'm a turtle and basically outa luck. Might be able to roll over, but I'll never be able to sit up.
