Does anyone have information on diving Riffe Lake, mossyRock, aprox 90 miles south of Tacoma?
I recently heard that when they built athe dam to create Riffe Lake, three towns were flodded and there is some or at least one building intact, A gas station with pumps and all that people can dive on.
After a brief search of the internet I have come up with nothing supporting this claim.
is there any info out there?

This could be useful in the theory... or shall I say truth that the town is still "underwater"
"These two pictures are taken near the old Road that leads to the town of Riffe which is Still underwater."
Found that at the bottom of the linked page.

I have been by the lake many times, but never heard of such fun diving. I have asked around but no one seems to know anything about it.
SOME PEOPLE ARE LIKE SLINKIES..... THEY ARE NOT REALLY GOOD FOR ANYTHING ... BUT THEY STILL BRING A SMILE TO YOUR FACE WHEN YOU PUSH THEM DOWN A FLIGHT OF STAIRS

I can say with a fair amount of certainty that there is indeed a town under the waters of Riffe Lake. I had heard about it even before I was a diver and it was confirmed by my Dad after I started diving. He lived in Mossy Rock after he retired and also said he and his dad (my grandfather) used to pass through the town on occassion (we're talking about 1930s-40s).
Now whether it's a good dive site, I don't know. I remember exploring possible entry points from shore and saw nothing but snags and entanglement hazards. But I only scouted it out once and didn't spend a lot of time doing it, and that was around the mid 90s when Pa was still around. I have not been there since.

Oddly enough, Riffe Lake was mentioned today in The Straight Dope, along with other underwater towns.
