This is absolutely classic:
A surprising bonus of participating in the activity of naked scuba diving is that it also allows the diver to awaken to the undersea surroundings that encourages increased diving skills. An example is the rugged and sharp rocks, coral and cliffs that can snag and damage expensive scuba diving gear When you are actually feeling your surroundings directly on your skin, you awaken your senses and awareness which enforces a higher level of caution for your surroundings.
Just the fear of this happening can make divers more acutely aware of their buoyancy and other diving skills. Nude diving as a safety practice, what a concept!
Yeah... dive naked. You'll only bump into fire coral once. :pale: Forget your expensive gear, watch your ass!! :bootyshake:

This is even better:
Of course to say that there are no risks associated with naked scuba diving would be a lie. As you might guess any male diver wants to avoid feeding fish as they are not always able to distinguish the difference between the male appendage and a nice morsel of food.

I've got $10 on it - anyone else want to buy a ticket to the best show in town?? Let's put you in a speedo just to ensure nobody gets in trouble. This isn't just a jump in and get out... you gotta dive!

I'm in as long as he wears swim trunks.. a speedo.. I don't know if I could stomach that!! :vom: No offence Seth, it's just speedoes are worse than nekkid..

I say it has to be a real dive too.. At least 15 minutes and at least below 20 fsw or it doesn't count..

I will come along and take pics..
A dive like this has got to be documented..

Otherwise no one will believe it.

I agree. But I'm going to need more than $10 to motivate me! :la:

Somebody's gonna bring hot water, blankets, and whiskey to return his core temperature to normal after, right? Hypothermia's bad...

I'll kick in another $10.

OK, get this! One of my students recently told me of her friend who celebrated her 100th dive, by diving in the buff in Hood Canal at the Yellow House, I think it was.

She lasted approximately 4 minutes. Walked across Hwy 101 wrapped in her gear and a beach towel, got in the water, swam out to her instructor, who I think immediately yanked her out of the water and whisked her off to warm up into the hot tub.

Details may be lost in the translation - don't quote me on this!

I could do the extreme end of Hood Canal - in mid-August. esp. if I could stay above the thermocline. Oh and no speedo (yuck) you have to tolerate my bare butt or its no deal. :bootyshake:

Ok I'll pitch in $10.. But it HAS to be at least 15 minutes if I have to tolerate bare butts and non of this mid August crap.. Are you a Puget Sound diver or what?!? We could pit Captian Jack against Seth T. and whoever lasted longer got the whole kitty (I mean pot of money)..

This could be the next NWDC event.. Lets tie it in with the Random dive number celebration...
