Yeah, it is creepy - even more so when you see it swim. There is a thread here somewhere where (I think it was Calvin) someone posted video of it.

Yeah, that's wicked. I remember seeing that on the news a while back. Something was wrong with it and it was at the end of its life. I suppose it figured a trip to the surface from 2000 FSW would be a great way to spend its last days!

In the video it kind've died dramatically.. you could tell how weak it was, and when it passed on, it went directly to the surface, as if looking up. Wild.
