Ferries for sale

Post by Scubak »

Not sure if this is the right place to post this...
Maybe we can sink a ship (er, Ferry) in Puget Sound...

Doesn't anyone think this may be a cool thing and may be a thing that could happen in the PNW?
I think it would be great...

Yes, that would be awesome. I hope Port Townsend or the Washington Scuba Alliance can pull 400k out of someone's pocket.
Anywhere in the Sound would be sweet for a ferry dive attraction. I would frequent.

The Washington Scuba Alliance wants to establish a dive park in Northern Puget Sound as soon as possible. It would like to sink the boats as artificial reefs, but it's uncertain whether the alliance has the money to buy the boats.
That's what I'm talking about! :supz:

Why couldn't the state just do the sinking and chalk it up to development or some such? Call me naive, but it seems to me that helping the Scuba Alliance establish such a dive park could increase the state's tourist revenue, increase critter habitat and a lot of other good things. But that's just me...

You have inspired me to restrain myself also... but now that I have started typing, it's more difficult than I thought it would be. :angryfire:

I'm really good at political rants lately, but in the interest of this site remaining family friendly I won't go into which elected officials head is where, and how they must have gone to contortionist school to accomplish it.

You know that "BOAT" stands for "Bring On Another Thousand" right?

Referb one of those hulks and it'll actually stand for "Bring On Another Trillion." :vom:

Man, that would be cool, if Queen Christine gets her plan on removing all the habitat from PS waters Mukilteo will need something for the fishies to live in. I pledge another $20.00, we are well on our way. I think BHUP needs a new attractiontoo.

I think we need to get Bill gates or Paul Allen into diving.

Well, the 4 steel electrics are now up for sale on eBay!

The Nisqually, Klickitat, Illahee and Quinault are going for minimum bids of $350,000.

Four days left of the auction, and no bids yet...

Here's a link to the Klickitat:

Dude - you really need to buy a map. It's not THAT hard to find your way around the Puget Sound, and there really are fantastic dive sites south of Seattle.
