the littlest dogfish

Post by Grateful Diver »

I found this itty-bitty dogfish at Redondo the other night ... maybe 10 inches long ...

... it was moving around so fast I had a hard time taking its picture ...

Image

... at one point it swam right into the camera ...

Image

... finally ... I got a lucky shot ...

Image

Even sharks are so darn cute when they're kids ...

Wow! Great shots, Bob- I've never seen one that small. You're right- he's a cute little nipper, isn't he?

Awww!!! He's so cute! :luv:

I'm guessing when you're that small and sharky if you don't keep movin' fast you won't grow up to be a big sharky!

Great picture. Reminds me of the time I was working in the Open Sea's exhibit at the Oregon Coast Aquarium and the Dog Fish had given birth to a bunch of babies. We had a hard time running them down to keep the other sharks from eating them.

I just "ooohhheed" over a shark. I had just gotten used to "aaahing" over sea slugs, and then Bob makes me "ooh" over sharks.
It's amazing what kinds of beauty you can find in the Sound.
Thanks Bob.
