Anemone Spawning

Post by kwbyron »

Hey guys, I need ya'lls help collecting data on the spawning season of Metridium sp. I am looking for occurances of the large sub-tidal anemone as well as the intertidal species, although I believe it will be a few months before the smaller intertidal species spawns. A fellow diver shot this video, which is farcimen (subtidal species) spawning at three tree:

Here is a photo of the two species side by side:

farcimen is on the left, senile (intertidal) on the right. If ya'll can email me sightings, photos if you get them, to kwbyron@hotmail.com with time, location, and water temp, I'd be very greatfull. Thanks!!

I feel like a fish out of the water when I'm not diving.
