Bob Lew took these great pics of a clam making a getaway from a Sunflower Star. Amazing... both the predator and the potential prey. Great pics Bob!

Great series of photos. An unusual sighting.

I believe what you have there is a Nuttall's Cockle Clinocardium nuttallii which isn't technically a clam.

that is one of MR Lew's favorite pass times to torment the Cockle by placeing them on the Sea Stars I think Ihave seen him do this about adozen times andit never fales to crack him ( MR. Lew ) Up I think he gets a kick out of makeing the Sea Stars thingk they just scored a free meal just to have it polevalt out of reach

MR.Lew has got to be one of the top ten dive buddies you could have
he has a nack for finding the criters lik nothing you have ever seen
Im not sure whichI am more jelious of Tom the grate Picture or the fact that you dive with my metors GratefulDiverand MR. Lew more then I do
