Dogfish vs Mud Sharks

For those in the know:

Is there a difference between these two names or are they one and the same???

I'm pretty sure that "mud shark" is just another name for the spiny dogfish shark.

Checkout this link. It will tell you the names of just about every shark. Though I couldn't find "mud shark"....

That was my understanding as well. I could be waaaay wrong, because fish ID is not one of my strong points, but I'm pretty sure these two are one and the same.

"mud shark" in my experience refers to six gill or sleeper sharks.

dogfish is the much smaller spiny dogfish.
